How many of you have ever coached a football team at any level?

Michigan has a huge fan base, tons of bluechip recruits, money, TV exposure, etc. and how many natiional titles do they have in the past 40 years?

Mack Brown was one game shy of having won won 10 games a year for seven straight seasons. You fellas can sit back and throw rocks at him all you like, but he's doing something right even if it is recruiting. Recruiting is part of the battle.

Maybe you Texas fans should get Mack fired... Then Orsini can put him on our list ! Fact is, Mack Brown WON at TULANE, WON at NORTH CAROLINA, and has won at Texas. After Mack left the first two programs mentioned, they both went right back to their usual ways....pitiful...Mack just didn't walk into a great Texas program. Texas was 4-7 the year before he got to Texas and all he did was take his 1st team to a big 12 championship game..................I'd sure rather have Mack than alot of coaches mentioned for our job.

His voice to my ears is like nails on a chalkboard. I can't stand to listen to him- he can recruit.

Yup, winningest coach in the last, i dunno, 10 years or so and he's terrible. Again, I'm too drunk to verify my [deleted], but it's there.

Throw stones all you want, Mack Brown is a winner.

Mack Brown is a fine coach. His era of success rivals what Darrell Royal did.
.
But Royal didn't have teams on his schedule that he could beat with his third stringers. TU has 6 wins before they even start the season just by virtue of the embarrassing non-conference schedule and the terrible conference.

I think we're suffering from good ol days syndrome. If you're saying UT didn't play all non-cupcakes in the non-conference, then that's baloney.

Also, Royal coached when scholarships were limited which gave him incredible depth. Brown is at 85 and his depth is pretty good.

Look at the SEC non-conference schedules minus a game or two and then you'll see.

I'll go with Mack Brown as my head coach and wouldn't think twice about it.

An SEC team would be foolish to play a decent nonconference game. Every conference game - except Ole Miss - is loseable.

Mack has been a great recruiter everywhere he's been. He got great talent to UNC and won nothing. He got NFL talent to UT, and has won .... once? Give those horses to the coaches at Boise State and they'll have a rack of trophies by now. Mack's a great recruiter, a great CEO-type, and OK, maybe he's a great guy. Couldn't care less. He's done as little with his talent as anyone outside of College Station.

Mack Brown got Vince Young to come to UT. That's his only saving grace. Without the freakish Young, Brown still would have no Big 12 titles and certainly no nat'l championship.
