Doh was a good hire for the university, not for the BB program. He has a clean past, great history (as a player), he can always use the I played with Michael Jordan thing, but he sucks as a coach. He did at his alma mata and now he is at SMU. I wonder why? The rest of the BB coaching world found out he could not coach. What other reason would Doh be coaching at SMU. Bad example JasonB.
His first recruiting class at UNC won a national championship. Doh's model is to tear things down, bring in his players, and build it up. Some coaches like to do that. It means you take a step back before you go three steps forward. UNC didn't have the patience for it - they just want to reload. This season will be a step back, end of the year we will start playing a lot better. Next year we will start picking it back up again, and the year after that SMU basketball will be really, really strong.
That wasn't his recruiting class. What is this [deleted] about tearing something down and building it back up. How far down can we go? We go down any further we won't be able to recruit. This is SMU not NC Jasonb. His model needs to be win now like everybody else. Memphis has one of the best freshman in the nation, UTEP and UH will compete for CUSA titles. Should I go on. There are enough BB players across the nation (with all the select crap going on) that we should compete now, not later. Doh has no clue about coachin or recruiting, and you are just making it sound good. Losing is losing!
