Gary Barnett came out early on to say he would like a chance. Looks like Orsini spent all of his energy and time on a 6 week wild goose chase. Talk about snipe hunts. He could have solved SMU's woes 7 weeks ago and squandered it. Whether it was a realistic gamble or not only he will know. But I think he was played and he knows it. Now it just looks like he is spinning his wheels.

Who's to say we aren't going to land a big fish? Just because it's December 9th doesn't mean that we are going to have to settle for a guppy. If you can prove that going after Paul Johnson was a wild goose chase that wasted all of Orsini's time and energy, then please do. I highly doubt you have any substantiated evidence to give credence to that claim. How do you know he wasn't sifting through phone calls, emails, resumes, interviews, etc.? The absence of information doesn't not automatically mean we are failing; it simply means there is an absence of information. So quit jumping to conclusions.

Agree.

Those who are claiming SMU has messed up WILL be proven WRONG.

Negotiations and getting it right take time.

Time will show SMU made the right moves.

And you know this and are so sure of it how? Not even Steve Orsini himself could make this statement right now without it being a bit of a hope certificate. Didn't the Paul Johnson outcome at least establish that there are no sure things?
