He has lost 2/3rds of his games in the NFL. If you're a GM do you take a chance on a head coach with a .333 winning percentage in the NFL.

The Dolphins might take that right now!

I don't see the Tuna as a June Jones type guy. Could be wrong about that.

I agree. Was joking really. They aren't in a situation to hire anyone this week anyway, I wouldn't think. I'll actually be surprised if they don't give CC one more year, but I also assume that is up to the Tuna as well.

However, I can't imagine anyone not thinking about this looking like the PJ situation. Almost a carbon copy IMO.
so if he accepts it's exactly the opposite of PJ situation?

I think he's smarter than some of us give him credit for and that he's got us in the June Jones sweepstakes with a legit chance to land him. But hey, I'm an optimist so what do I know.
I agree. I would feel confident that SO has a legit chance to land JJ, but it might not happen, we can't control who comes in and offers him a job. I certainly appreciate that although we could have hired Fran or Coker in December that SO went after the best available, even if you lose recruiting time at least we know that are AD is committed to the best around.
I totally agree, the posters on this board griping that we should haved hired Fran a month ago instead of waiting on a better coach are the same guys who took the fat girl home from the bar every night and not seeing if they could do any better. Orsini is using my (when I was single) approach of locking down a backup and looking for upgrades and if nothing pans out then you always have the back up. Tell the fat girl that you really like her but you just cant take her home right now. You have a few friends (a hotter girl) that you are meeting later. If the hotter girl came with her boyfriend then you get an E for effort and you still have the fat girl who would just love to go home with you.
I'm sorry, but that's pure brilliance.
What's the old saying though - "...a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush..."?
nevertheless, if we dont sign a coach soon, we might be looking for some fat girls to shore up the D-line.. How did AXO do in Powderpuff this year?

He took the San Diego job as interim head coach after Kevin Gilbride got fired and inherited a tough situation in Atlanta for 3 years...one year he went to the playoffs...those were his first head coaching jobs. I'm guessing he learned a lot since then. Good experience. I'm not saying this to argue for him but more that you shouldn't hold this against him.

So how much time is left on the clock? When did the 72 hour period begin? 8:00 am? Hawaii time or Dallas or LA (his agents)?

Funny analogy icehawks but not entirely accurate. Fran certainly isn't the 'fat girl' at the bar. Hell, I think he'd be a better choice given the SMU circumstances than Jones, although I think Jones would be solid. Just not sure he is the right fit for good 'ol SMU.

According to the DC, clock started this morning.

I agree.
Although we are the fat chick with really rich parents and all the right connections who could be decent looking with the right exercise program and a little lipo. Hawaii is the hippie girl that was hot and skinny in her 20's but now is getting crows feet and still refuses to shave her pits, but expects JJ to bring home the paycheck and take care of the house and kids so that she can keep making her homemade papaya soap in the bathtub.

Yeah, but my wife would be crazy enough to buy that papaya soap for $20 a bar.

Fran is probably a step above the fat chick. At least a fat chick whose dad owns a liquor store.

And she could sell it to my wife for $40.00 at a papaya soap in home party.
