Come September 20, I will be ready to see JJ take GP to the woodshed.
I would hope that you would....but it ain't gonna happen!
Care to make a wager on that, ReedFrawg?
He might not, but I'll do so... what do you want to bet. You name the terms.[/quote] Let him answer for himself. If he doesn't want to 'wager' on the game, I'll come to you next.[/quote]
I do have confidence but make it a general rule not to bet. Sorry about that but...I'm sure you will have several other takers.

Franchione had them "turned around" before Patterson took over, and he inherited some guy nicknamed LT...which probably helped get things going just a little bit.
Actually, Franchione inherited LT from Pat Sullivan. Patterson had him for one game, the Liberty Bowl. Franchione took some decent kids and made them better, but 4 - 10+ win seasons in the past 6 years, well that puts Patterson in a class all his own. I'm amazed at how the nice things Gary said about June and SMU can be turned around and made to sound like he said the guy is an [deleted] and he'll never have success over in Dallas. What kind of inferiority complex do you have?
OK, I am amazed you guys can delete a word like "[deleted]" but with ss's. Really, I thought you guys were Methodists, not Baptists...

O.K. ReedFrawg has 'opted out' of a wager on the SMU v TCU game.
Beer? Well...I don't drink anymore. How about this for a 'wager'?
The losing fan must wear a t-shirt sporting the winning fan's school's letters and post it in a photo on www.ponyfans.com. The loser must also hold up a sign saying "(winning school name) is #1" in the photo.
How 'bout it, deepellumfrog?

I don't care for Lumpy out in Lubbock or Steve Spurrier, but I am absolutely impressed with their ability to take an underperforming team and bring success to it. Patterson did that at TCU. It is appropriate that he comment on SMU's situation and that the gist of the interview/converstion turn back to his experience in making that happen in Ft. Worth. It is both his point of reference and relevance.
just beat TCU with the same consistency they have beaten SMU during the Patterson era-then we will have credibility in judging his self-promotion skill..
The reason tcu has been so successful for the last decade and more is because of SMU's misfortune. This is about to change. tcu will be reverting back to their customary 2-9 seasons pretty soon. It's SMU's turn. Just look at history.

The last thing in the world that SMU needs to do is to PO
Gary Patterson. Things could really get ugly on Sept. 20th.

Oh, for cryin' out loud! Nothing would make me happier than to PO that little [deleted] over in Fort Worth! I'd love to see some blood & guts on the field at Ford on Sept. 20th! An all out brawl, in fact! Something that would make ESPN highlights and keep SMU in the national spotlight. And, of course, the Mustangs kickin' the Froggies all the back to Fort Worth and bringing the Iron Skillet back to Dallas! Bring it on!
