Now we just need to install some sort of diversion to keep them in their seats through halftime...
We could set up an invisible fence and offer them free shirts with their greek letters on them with a shock device inside. If they try to leave during game time, zap 'em!

TABC agents with breathalysers at every exit until the game is over.

Had to have been after we all left it was open during finals.

That would work for one game, and then the student section would be empty the rest of the year

That actually is as close as they can be to the visiting bench by NCAA rules. If you remember the Halloween night game against UAB 2 years ago, we had to get a waiver from the NCAA to allow the students to be directly behind the bench (so the ESPN cameras weren't having to shoot empty seats).

That was the most ridiculous thing ever. I recorded the game on Tivo and it looked just as stupid on TV as it did at the stadium.

How big was the student section before?
I guess they are getting ready for when we win and more students come?

I think SMU has probably the best visitor section location in the NCAA (nevermind the fact they look right into the western sun). Guess it helps that our stadium doesn't really have a bad seat. I've been to way too many away games where it would have been better to stay home (nevermind the probable loss I witnessed).
I haven't been to a lot of other college stadiums, but I wouldn't be surprised if A&M's visitor section is one of the worst. It's tiny, and I think it might even be past the endzone.
That's because that entire stadium is completely ill conceived. And yes, the visitor section is past the endzone.
