This sucks:

Two true freshmen, Bo Levi Mitchell and Braden Smith, have received all the snaps since 9:40 a.m.

Junior Justin Willis, who started the 22 of the last 23 games, is kneeling in the end zone near the first team. He has not taken a snap with the first team.

From the DMN blog.

Smith did sign under PB

He committed under Bennett. He signed with Jones, so when Jones got here, he could have not honored the commitment.

thanks for the correction.

I agree, but maybe JJ is still trying to decide who will be with JW???? If he goes with 2 freshmen, he's got big ego that I hope is worth 2 mil!!

What about the fact that Willis only lead the team to victory 7 times in his 22 starts? He did lead the team in getting suspended for beating up people with "alternative" lifestyles however............

You can't blame losses last year on JW, our defense SUCKED, the offense made plenty of play despite the horrible play calling.

Well, yeah. He only threw 3 pick sixs last year. And then when it was our turn in OT against Tulane, he got sacked and fumbled -- game over. He and everybody else had a part in 2007.

you are joking right? do you not remember in some of the games where he coughed up the ball countless times, and never threw the ball away?

Yea...right...

As bad as the defense was, Justin sure didn't help anything.

Ah, right on time, the "we didn't want Willis as the starter anyway" contingent makes its appearance. Give me a break.

Never said that I didn't want him as the starter.

Simply said, he had just as big of an impact on the results as the defense did.

Now, c'mon. You're a little jaded. I know you're frustrated. But I think it's fair to point out that no one was absolved from the 1-11 season. Defense was bad, JW had his share of mistakes, running game was too inconsistent. And so it goes...

Hey I don't disagree that there's plenty of blame to go around at 1-11.

Well, when someone says you can't blame last year on Willis, I beg to differ on that. I'm not bashing Willis, but you saw the season. He was not in the clear. He actually played his best game of the year against Memphis.

It should make the post game banter on this Board after the Rice game down right interesting whether we win or lose if these rumors are true.

That would be a good poll. I'd bet I get a lot of blame.
