Could the situation be that Willis is in the Top 2 and June is giving the others some serious snaps today in order to figure out which of the two gets the other spot?
BTW, I do see the value in getting the new guys in sooner than later otherwise there will be a void in a couple of years. We will see what happens. Unless there is a press release or JJ says something himself I don't think we will know anything until tomorrow's practice.
No, it's because JJ wants Willis gone! He is making it quite obvious to JW that his career at SMU is completely over and if I were JW I would transfer ASAP. JW would be a fool to stick around hoping to get a shot at winning his job back. It's not going to happen
some would argue that he would be a fool to transfer too. TBA where would JW transfer with a chance to start come september?

Willis has nobody to blame but himself for getting in the doghouse in the first place.
He wouldn't have started even if he weren't suspended in the spring. If the spring suspension was still a concern for JJ, I think he would have made the suspension permanent. Ie., Hudman.
For whatever reason JJ just doesn't think JW's skill set fits his system.

You are such a mindreader of coaches.

I didn't claim to be a mind reader but unlike some ^ I'm fairly logical. My reasoning is that I think JJ is a straight forward guy and if he planned on holding JW's past suspension against him this fall, why even allow him back on the team?
If he we're still upset about JW's self destructive actions of the spring he could have simply kicked him off the team for good(something he notably did when he first took over at UH).

Are you Justin Willis? :?
But JJ is also know for giving people second chances...ie Colt Brennan and his incidence at Boulder.

Okay, Mr. "logical, " what sense does it make to NOT run off a guy who you have not intention of ever playing again? If you were right that Jones "wants Willis gone" then logic would dictate he WOULD HAVE made the suspension permanent. I think he Willis lost the job by missing spring, where he would have very likely gained the comfort in the new offense which the coaches find lacking now.
