BLM-completion rate tonight 59%, 3 interceptions Willis-completion rate for the 2007 season 58.5%, averaged 1.5 interceptions a year
Don't give us that Willis's numbers would have been better tonight. They wouldn't have.
How do you know....Willis didn't play....all I know is what Bo did..and it was bad...and many people felt he should not have played..thats all I am saying......

And Bagice-Willis and BLM are the same freaking height!! Willis has had a few more years in the weight room so that will explain the few extra pounds he's carrying. Stop [deleted] about him being short.

I agree with Bagice, putting BLM out there was a travesty.
Again, and they pointed it out several times during the broadcast, he averaged just 10 passes a GAME at Katy, they were a run first team, and when he did pass, it was against man coverage, not a 2 deep zone or anything like that. It would have served BLM well by letting him watch and learn a year.
If Rice didn't hand SMU the 2 TD's from turnovers on special teams, this would have even been a lot worse.
I wouldn't be surprised if we lose against Texas State, their pretty confidant over there on the Bobcat board.

Not to mention if you are going to rag on Mitchell get his stats correct please. He wasn't just a nobody QB recruit. He's the best QB recruit we've seen in some time. Give the kid a break and let the love affair with Willis go.
How was he a great recruit? who wanted him besides June? He was a little scrawny short kid on a great running highshool team....he was by no means highly recruited...YOU get your facts straight.
chill out dude. all you want to do is rip on the QB that won the 5A state championship....

It's embarassing that a few of you just listen to what a broadcaster says and don't take the time to look at the real stats of his highschool career.
I'm not saying he's going to be our starter the next four years, but that he deserves a chance. Maybe Willis would have been further along at this point in his career if he would have had JJ his entire time. He didn't and he's not our future. Either get over and get on board, or go find a sure thing to cheer for.
I for one am happy with the direction we are going and realize it takes time to deliver a complete overhaul. It didn't happen overnight at Hawaii, but it happened. Be patient but above all, support this team and this coach until they give you a reason not to. One game is not a reason to jump off the bandwagon.
and chillin-please learn the proper use of their, there, and they're or don't claim SMU as your alma mater.

I'm not making that comparison. All I'm saying is that Coach Jones believes in his system, took his lumps each time, stayed the course and his team got better last time, and deserves a hell of a lot more than one game to show he can get better here before he gets ripped for starting a quarterback he happens to believe has talent, or promise, or something else that he is not obligated to go into with fans or media if he doesn't choose to. He thought Mitchell was the guy this week. I bet he'll pick 22 starters again next week, and he'll still know a hell of a lot more than anyone on this board.

Amen. I don't think Mike Leach's team looked that good in his first game with them either. Give it time.

The lingering effects of the prior regime aren't going to go away overnite nor is the lack of talent that was left-we'll have to wait this thing out but it will get better in time.

Katy won because of their running game and defense, not because of BLM. JW's only losses his senior year were against Southlake, the eventual state champions, and he played the playoff game on one leg after badly spraining his ankle the previous week, but he still toughed it out.
Ironically, JW gets criticized for wanting to run, well, Clements showed tonight a running QB isn't too bad.
I wonder how many of the season ticket holders this year will renew next year if we go 1-11?

I don't know if we weren't watching the same games or what, but Willis liked to run because he lacked faith in his teammates. A running QB can be great, look at Vince Young.
I can't speak for the other season ticket holders, but we will be giving this coach his five years to show us improvement before we would consider dropping the tickets due to performance. I would like to see us win three games this year, but if we only win one or even if we win none, we will be ordering tickets next year.

tell JW to follow rules and go to class then maybe he might not be where he's at right now....
stick with BLM - this is a long term project...
