Found one of the coolers (the one without any alcohol in it) open and abandoned about 100 yards from our tailgate.
My money is on SMU students. Looks like it happened during the fourth quarter, probably a bunch of frat punks on the way back to the house after the game.
Kind of put a damper on an otherwise great day.
Happens again, someone gets punched in the throat.
I totally appreciate your anger and frustration, but it is ridiculous to show your obvious bias and accuse "frat punks" for the theft. I guess I forgot that all non-Greeks and Dallas citizens unaffiliated with SMU are completely honorable and would never touch your things. It had to be fraternity guys. The boulevard was packed and is easily accesible from all sides for all kinds of undesirables to make a move for people's things. The odds are it was someone not affiliated with SMU who had a strategy to steal.
Again, it completely blows that someone would take your stuff and they should definitely get a violent punch to the throat and die a slow death, but your accusation appears to be born of some bitterness or judgment towards fraternity members, and I think that is misguided.
Let the floodgates open on bashing fraternities...
Calm down, Smokey, and see my last post. I figured it was "frat punks" because me and all of my alumni "frat punk" brothers that were there came to the realization that we probably would have taken the beer but left the coolers and chairs. I wasn't so pissed about losing the beer as much as the coolers. That's what really pissed me off.
Totally understand your anger man...Something about coolers and koozies (while relatively cheap and easy to replace items) are very personal things that no man wants messed with. A methodical and violent beating would be the adequate punishment for whatever no-account, worthless coward took your stuff.
Glad to hear your original post wasn't truly focused at frat guys. There seems to be an undercurrent of angst towards the Greek system on this board (primarily against fraternities) which I never quite understood. Maybe it is because all the pretty girls seem to be with the frat punks...
The Greek system at SMU as a whole, while maybe not the best football fans, are the largest student organization on campus and do the most to help make the Boulevard what it is today. The negative things that are posted on here from time to time about the Greeks drive me kinda crazy...I would love to see a percentage breakdown of which student group is best about coming to games. I would be amazed if the Meadows crowd is bringing a huge crowd to the games...is someone honestly going to tell me the English department is coming out in masse to support football...of course not...I am an ex-frat guy and can completely appreciate that frat guys deserve to be made fun of about a lot of things...but usually the Greeks are the only students people label as apathetic or criticize for only being interested in partying on the Boulevard.
It always goes back to the same simple and basic principle...SMU is never going to be an SEC school in terms of fan support...but if a consistent, quality, and winning product is put on the field for more than one season at a time, ALL students, including Greeks, will be better about supporting the team. So lets drop whatever bitterness or jealousy exists towards the Greeks and realize that NO student group is good about supporting SMU athletics, and without the Greeks the only consistent positive about SMU football (the Boulevard) would not be close to what it is today...
Fraternity for eternity...

Let me explain something to you. I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me.
