Indeed. The support for the Tulane football team after Katrina was another example of SMU's altruism. Turner and Orsini are top-notch.
Yeah... I loved it how the Tulane players were doing end zone dances and talking $h it to our players and fans after all that hospitality.
Well, SMU can kick their [deleted] in a couple of weeks in NOLA as payback.

I really don't get where that poor taste of a "joke" comes from?

We also helped get UofH into the SWC.

"The University of Houston has moved its Saturday football game against Air Force to Southern Methodist University.
Kickoff at Gerald J. Ford Stadium will be at 2:30 p.m. (Patrons are advised to bring umbrellas and ponchos.)
The Cougars had been scheduled to play the Falcons in Houston."
I thought I heard here on PF that umbrellas are a no-no,
Special Hurricane Ike exemption?

Saw an AP story that said the game is a 1:30 pm EDT start. Of course, 12:30 here.
Has there been a change in the time?

ESPN as of now:

Other games affected by Hurricane Ike:
• The Stanford-TCU game also has been moved up because of the storm. The game will be played at 1 p.m. ET in Forth Worth.
• Air Force's game against Houston has been moved to Gerald J. Ford Stadium at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. ET. The game was moved from John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium in Houston.

Umbrellas are banned from Ford, stick with ponchos, the person in the stands behind you will be grateful.

That no umbrellas policy applies to SMU games, the idea being that umbrellas restrict other people's ability to see the field. We probably don't care what other games allow or don't allow.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

The start time at 1:30pm is perfect, gives plenty of time to make it to a TV for the SMU game at 6:00pm.
Hopefully, game will be done before the heavy stuff rolls in. Unless it is a monsoon at kickoff I will be there to support the Coogies.
I love beating UH, but will definitely pull for our conference mates in OOC, especially playing at our stadium.

Per Terry Hemme in the SMU ticket office: 2:30 kickoff. If you didn't get the e-mail. Tickets are $10 cash. No advance purchase. Bring your dinero to the ticket windows -- only way you're going to get them.

To me, I always go for our conference against OOC teams, makes our conference stronger and look better overall.
Not sure why we would want them to lose for AFA, the better their OOC record is, the better it is for us when we play them and beat them!

Just got the e-mail that tickets are $10 as is parking. Sounds like the stands will be general seating (no, not you General). Guess the small crowd can bunch in the middle on the East side to look like something for TV.

Screw that. I'm sitting on the 'home team' side (west stands) for UofH.
