I love that guy. The 7 year old ran screaming bloody murder from the room the night he pulled some kind of slug out of a tree in Trinidad and popped it down. I was lectured by the Mrs. after that one.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Our Psych guys are pretty optimistic. They would say, at least we have one more decade to get a winning season which would match that great TCU run from 1961-1991 of just 2 winning seasons. Of course if SMU gets one more winning season in the next 10 years, we will actually surpass TCU as we will have had 2 winning seasons and a .500 season as compared to TCU's mere two winning seasons. TCU had its run of less than stellar decades just as SMU has had its share of losing performances. But when it comes to solid losing performances, SMU has a long way to go to catch TCU.
I don't know where you're getting your numbers, but TCU had 5 winning seasons from 1961-1991, thank you very much!!
Yes, we were bad. Very, very bad. Which just goes to show ya that things can change.
Really, good luck to the ponies this weekend. I was not lying in my first post - I really do cheer for you guys whenever you're not playing the Frogs. Hope you guys get at least to 6-6. JJ was a great hire.

I stand corrected. From 1963 to 1983 TCU had two winning seasons. If one then evaluates 1984 to 1993 TCU had a stellar decade with two winning seasons. Much better than the post DP Ponies. TCU had some pitiful years just like SMU ('76's Ofer for TCU). TCU has had decades of poor performance. The 50s were TCU’s heyday just as the 80s were SMU’s. Both have had decades of performance failure following great years. TCU finally pull out of the dismal situation and started winning. Soon I hope we too emerge from crummy performances.
I have said before, TCU is a rivalry, not an enemy. The BSC is the enemy. Just TCU has a clue of the misery that decades of losing inflicts on fans.

In all my years of reading messages on this board, this has to be the best one by far. The BSC and any team part of the BCS IS the enemy.
Good job!

Speaking of memories, anyone remember that time when TCU beat #2 Oklahoma????? Yeah, that was awesome....at least until they GOT SMOKED at Ford Stadium a few days later. Ohhh, good times!!
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

Imagine that. 20 years of losing seasons, and we still get more press coverage nationally and in the metroplex. That has to bring back old memories of your parents ignoring you. But, the psych classes say football isn't everything and we can rest easy knowing we'll have jobs before the the purple queers do.

On my walk this morning, I noticed a plethora of smashed frogs in the street. Normally I would scrape them up, or perhaps kick then to the side of the road. All dead frogs will stay in the road until Sunday morning.

Hey, you can have the national and local coverage, we'll take the national rankings, bowl wins, NFL draft picks.

Hey man, it's patently unfair for you to come on here and use on-field accomplishments to back up your smack talk! Go away!

WE ARE BACK wrote:Our QB isn't very good... but your QB isn't much better. So far this year we have been burned by good QB's who can throw the deep ball. Dalton hasn't thrown a TD pass yet this year, so I won't be surprised if the game is much closer than expected.
Air Force passed 7 times and completed none against UH but still won the game. A good running team can win. Patterson will not let his players forget the last loss to SMU or the close game last year.
