Wasn't trying to compare, just show that programs do start true fresman and at times it turns out to be a positive. And yes, peaches is the correct term.

[quote="35straight"]Pirated material, but true.

Jones led the Warriors to a 9-4 record and a share of the Western Athletic Conference football championship in the 1999 season, making it the most dramatic turnaround in NCAA football history. During his tenure at Hawaiʻi, he has coached five All-Americans, 52 all-conference performers, and eight NFL draft picks. In particular, Jones claims to have made a special effort to recruit local talent in his players and coaching staff. One of the most notable of his recruits was quarterback Timmy Chang, who became the all-time NCAA leader in passing yardage.

I'm gonna have to side with Jones on this one. Stallion is out of his leage.

You got to remember that JJ started a senior QB that year. One that he didn't recruit. Starting Dan Robinson that year was a no brainer, he had no one else that was decent. When Timmy Chang came in as a starter is when Hawaii started having sub-par seasons. It took Nick Rolovich to come in and save a couple seasons. I believe it took Chang getting injured for JJ to start Rolo. Those NFL players mentioned..there was about 4 or 5 in JJ's first couple years he coached Hawaii. Sadly, he takes credit for that but we all know he didn't recruit them, they were holdovers from the previous coach.

JJ is as stubborn as it gets when it comes to playing time for starters. He feels like he has to back-up all his outrages comments about a recruit, after all, he can't talk-up a kid and then leave him on the bench.

Oh yea, don't believe that local recruit selling point. JJ got into a battle of words with a Hawaii high school coach who's team consistantly puts out between 5-10 D-1 propects a year. In his last few years as coach for Hawaii, JJ never even made a 40 minute trip to that North shore high school for recruiting. Then he had kojones enough to complaint about Hawaii's recruiting budget. Come'un now, he couldn't afford a 10 dollar trip to Kahuku high school? I think he loved that small recruiting budget because he was a lazy recruiter. Pray you guys don't lose Reinbold.

Anyway, you better learn to live with BLM. Unless he gets injured or you recruit an all-american QB, you got him for the next three years. The key to his long term success will be his receivers, if you got some young ones right now, they can grow together. If not, expect growing pains every year. Brennan, Bess, Rivers and Mullins played amost three full seasons together.

OK if you guys use the No. 1 Rated QBs in the Nation for your Apples then I'll use Tony Romo sitting on the bench for several years and learning a much more complicated offense as my Oranges. Tony Romo didn't learn at thing sitting on the sidelines with Parcell? I will concede though that I would have had no real problem starting either Stafford or Terrelle Pryor in this situation. Both reportedly got 118 Division 1A offers from every school in the Country except for SMU because they didn't attend the Phil Bennett Boys Camp and Jamboree

Here's some more Comedy:

Bo Levi Mitchell with 8 Interceptions has thrown at least 60% more Interceptions than EACH and EVERY other QB in Division 1A. The next highest number of Interceptions by any QB is 5 Ints. Coach Jones made a mistake.

I am glad you have found something to rant about rather than the fact that Justin Willis is too short for Div 1A ball.

I'm tossing the Bull-shit flag on this one. What Hawaii high school consistently puts out 5-10 D-1 prospects a year. You must be counting 1aa (FCS) schools in there. Or did you mean 5'-10" prospects?

Okay, 10 may be a little on the high side. Make that 6-8 D-1 players a year.

Check the other years also, click on the word "Kahuku" for the last 8 years. Also, that's not even counting the Kahuku residents that play private schools here.
