Lets assume for a moment, that in two or three years from now, JJ has turned the program around, we are winning nine games a year and we are starting to beat the Baylors and TCUs of the world. Even the BB team is winning 20 games a year. Should we set our sites for a better conference or do we dominate the CUSA. After thinking about it, I would prefer to stay in the CUSA. Would love to see us in the Big 12 but that is not a possibility.

Relax, the only CUSA team that the MWC would have even the

remotest interest in would be the University of Houston. When

considering the area of the state in which they are located, UH,

becomes a distinct possibility.

SMU should move to the Sun Belt conference so we can be semi-competitive. However, we all said the move from the SWC to the WAC would make us competitive and then the move from the WAC to C-USA would make us competitive. SMU brings nothing to the table athletically. Hopefully in a few years with the so-called "Top 25" in everything we do mentality from SO we will start holding our own in the tough C-USA conference.

Horrible idea,

This all just seems smoke, I would highly doubt either SMU or MWC would be interested.

Still, it might be worth it just to [deleted] TCU off.......weeeere back.........

Air Force would win CUSA with ease. Colorado State, New Mexico and UNLV would probably win CUSA, maybe have some trouble with Tulsa. Wyoming and SDSU would finish around the middle of the pack.

All of them would [deleted] SMU like a pimp on his crackwhore.

AFA barely beat Houston at Ford Stadium when the UH players' homes were being ravaged by a direct hit from a Cat3 hurricane. UH would have won at home on a clear day. UH lost by seven to TCU at the Texas Bowl last year and was firing into the endzone as time expired. Not so clear cut.

I guess MWC 2- CUSA 0 could be more clear cut, but I'm not sure exactly how. Oh yeah, we can add in the TCU-SMU games of the last 2 years. MWC 4- CUSA 0. More clear cut. For sure.

Last time I checked, there were no mountains around here in Dallas. Only a Hilltop. Come to think of it, there aren't any mountains in Ft. Worth either. The MWC doesn't make any sense geographically for SMU or TCU, and neither did the WAC.

We started out competitive in the WAC, but then Copeland fired Rossley,
continuing this horrible sine wave we are stuck in to this date.

Why would SMU or TCU want to kick Baylor out of the Big 12? It would
be Sooiecide, or at least being a perpetual doormat. Might be a better
fit for Arkansas. Read the article Stallion posted about UT, and their
athletic budget, etc. in the Texas Monthly. Little private schools can't
compete with that.

MWC is better footall for sure - that cannot be argued - at least when it comes to the last couple of years.

We would never want to move into that conference - the better football is not worth the long list of negatives - that cannot be argued either.

I think CUSA is good for SMU.

Regional rivalries can be developed with Tulane, Rice, Tulsa, Cougar High, and Southern Miss.

As stated SMU has nothing to offer the MTN west. Never happen. BSU will be the next team to join. They bring a lot to the table.

Who cares about TCU. As soon as the winning dies down and they start to struggle a bit after Patterson leaves they are going to have serious problems garnering any local support whatsoever. The metroplex is part of the south not the inter mountain west. They can have fun playing UNLV or Colorado State in an empty Amon Carter.

Reality check -

All NCAA football game are played on flat surfaces. If you are aware

of games being played on the side of a mountain, please report any

such incident the the proper authorities.

As opposed to those big crowds between CUSA West rivals?? Look - I don't disagree with some of your points but to bring up attendance is laughable. I've been to a few SMU home games that did not involve TCU and it's not like fans are fighting to watch Rice, UTEP and Tulane either...
