Stallion, I guess I should have worded it, "Not even the Aggies are that stupid". Of course they could prove me wrong. We all know that the capacity for Aggie stupidity has not been completely utilitized. They of course forgot to get Gillespie to actually sign his contract extension.

Just another rumor -

June Jones, has agreed to become HC @ Texas A&M.

He accepted, after conceding that resurrecting SMU's football program

would be tantamount to scaling Mount Everest while riding a unicycle

and wearing high heels.

Taking Patterson out of the discussion for a moment, I bet it would be a tough sell for anyone to take over at A&M, especially a top tier coach with no past ties to the program. Sure they have great fan support but talk about walking into a hornet's nest. Texas, Oklahoma, Okie State, Tech and improving Baylor in your division - ouch! You could do a great job there, win 7-8 games in your third and fourth years and get fired.

Sherman is going is on board for at least the next 2 years. Check out their 2009 recruiting class and it was ranked 6th in Scouts when I last checked.

They have always had outstanding recruiting classes at tamu.

That was one of the main criticisms of Fran. He had the talent. Ever since Sherill they have frequently had top recruiting classes. The problem in college station has always been capitalizing on the talent they have.

It was a huge injustice that they never recieved the DP under Sherill. Fittingly, on the national stage they were probably one of the most under performing programs in the country in the final days of the the SWC. They lost so many big bowl games when they were heavily favored. Ironic it worked out that way for them.

It is odd that many inner city kids would choose to go to a program like tamu whose only genuine legacy seems to be building lethal bonfires, a non diverse student body, and a pretend fake military "core of cadets" that likes to squeeze their balls during football games.

Hope they stay at the bottom of the big 12 for years to come.

Top 20 recruiting classes don't take you too far in a Division with UT and OU which generally finish in the Top 1-8-A&M still has been outmanned for years. Tech is the overachiever in the Division no doubt. Baylor has shown improvement because they hit the jackpot with two great freshman-both of which were highly recruited. Still largely uncompetitive. Baylor will have to improve in recruiting to ever make a move out of the celler. Every Coach deserves 4 years but I just don't see Sherman ever getting the job done in Texas recruiting.

Gary has made it clear within the last week (arguably years) both on paper and through his words that he has no intention of leaving this fine institution.

No. 19 right now largely because he already has 26 commitments-will likely drop from there. About 25th in average rating per recruit. There are 365 Division 1A players in Texas-Texas A&M will always get a large number of very good recruits.

Compare tamu recruiting classes to schools like OSU and Texas Tech and its easy to see they are the south divisions biggest Underachievers.
