great game. Both qbs put their teams in a position to win. Haven't seen any other qb wearing gloves or sleeves to help their production, grip, etc. SMU has the best dressed qb for GQ magazine. Now the ponies got to focus on winning, beat TCU, not impossible, Washington beat USC, USF beat Florida State, lots of chances to succeed.

I'd take 12 -1 point wins..

Great win for Houston and C-USA. Do not look forward to playing cougar high. High octane offense and tough defense.

GO PONIES!!!

What really impresses me is that Houston's WRs have great hands and their ability to YAC is exceptional. Tech will look back at that lost fumble at the cougar 25 midway thru the fourth as the moment it could have put that ge away. Nice win for the conference.

Impressed with the Coogs. I knew they would play well. Great game.

Going into Stillwater (yes, Ok State was overrated but still a good football team) and
taking care of business was the first sign.

Sumlin is a great coach. Good game management skills ( hello June Jones? did you watch?).

I also think they have some real talented athletes down there. They are able to find a place for guys that might be a bit undersized for the UT's of the world.

Better question is "Did YOU watch?" Kevin Sumlin and his LACK of clock/timeout management skills nearly killed UH in this game. As I desperately was rooting for U of Houston I almost lost it at the end of the first half and on the final drive. The 3 scenarios are as follows:

1. End of first half drive. UH driving down field trying to score. Keenum completes pass for first down to the Texas Tech 28. Clock stops (temporarily) at 21 seconds in the half for moving the chains. UH has 2 times out remaining and 21 seconds to go. They do not call a timeout! They instead run their next play, an incomplete pass, at the end of which there were 5 seconds left in the half. 21 seconds to go and they ran only 1 play prior to having to kick the field goal. Failure to properly manage the game.

2. End of first half FG okay so you made a mistake not using any timeouts above, but you still have a 45 yard FG attempt with 5 seconds left and still have those 2 timeouts. You send your FG unit out, the playclock starts to wind down, and you allow your team to get a delay of game! Is there a clause in Sumlin's contract that pays him extra for not using timeouts? Now a 45 yard FG became a 50 yard FG. Thankfully the kicker nailed it. I would have felt awful for him if he would have come up a couple yards short.

3. Final Drive. UH takes it to the Texas Tech 4 yardline for 1st and goal with 51 seconds left. Tech has no timeouts. UH has 2. All UH has to do is go 4 yards, within the next 4 plays, and they take the lead. And the beauty is- Tech cannot stop the clock so a comeback for them will be next to impossible! Well, that is unless you call a timeout at 51 seconds left without any time coming off the clock! You certainly should have called a timeout there but only AFTER running time off. You don't need 51 seconds to score from the 4 yardline. Sure enough, Keenum scores the very next play and now Texas Tech got the ball back with 40+ seconds to go. The UH defense stopped them and they won the game, but why should it come to that when it would have been much easier to just manage the game properly?

AWFUL clock management in this one by UH. I am glad it did not cost them the W.

Oh by the way. I do agree Sumlin is a great coach and I love what they are doing at UH. I am a huge fan. Just wanted to point out the frustration of watching such an important game for them hanging in the balance while they mismanage the clock at the end of each half.

Wow, what is up with Houston? SMU will take them. Upsets are common in college football.

pretty funny stuff going on over at the Tech message boards. Their QB sucks. Their coach sucks. Their coach is overpaid. Poor 4th down decisions. lol.

looks to me that Tech has been recruiting the wrong Receivers-The quality at Receiver is way down from where it was in the last 4 or so years. UH exhibits the Stallion concept of the Run and Shoot-speed, speed amd more speed. Not interested in receivers that can't take it to the house on any play. Keep the 8 yards and a cloud of dust receivers for the Spring Game. Hopefully when we add Darius Johnson, Jeremy Johnson and Rickey Collins into the mix we can see the same type of track meet. And now they have added Charles Sims to Bryce Bell in the backfield. I love what they do with Sims catching passes out the backfield. UH now has about 6-8 offensive players who are home run threats. UH's Offensive Coordinator took that page right out of the Texas Tech playbook

I think last night wouldve turned out differently if Crabtree were still around.

And yeah, Stallion I do think Leech has become too enamoured with the Welker/Amendola types.
