I understand the thinking, but walking out on our team is never acceptable.
For clarification -- the idea was to leave before the ceremony and return when it was finished or before the second half started.
do we not feel a little put out because we are taking the impression that they impressing this movement on us whether we like it or not?And if it's rude to Pickens and his wife, Do we not thingk Booing is just as rude? Just sayin...
I know we want to do the right thing to make our voices heard and do it respectfully. If people have better suggestions like Bergermeister's T-shirt idea or something else, then go with it...
President Hyer didn't choose Peruna the Shetland, he was accepted as a gift. The only difference is we have someone smart enough to give us a gift that actually fits the name this time around. Mustangs.
You have no clue about the history of Peruna. Cy Barcus saw the first horse at a picnic and told football coach Ray Morrison who told Barcus to get the horse to the upcoming pep rally. A student brought the horse to the pep rally and he was immediately so well-liked that he became the mascot of SMU. He died a tragic death after being hit by a car on Mockingbird Lane. All of the subsequent Perunas have been gifts from the Culwell family.
