That was then, this is now. ECU has to earn every win on the field, we have to earn every win on the field. That's why we play the game. There is not an unbeatable team on our schedule. There are some very difficult games ECU, Navy, UH, and Tulsa, but they all have their warts and can be beaten if we play up to our potential.

My post was made to indicate that ECU has recently played bowl games against opponents from all 6 BCS conferences & have beaten as many quality AQ-BCS teams as any non-AQ out there. Anyone that follows college football at all knows who we are & while we haven't performed well yet this year, we did start the season with 31 votes in the AP (33rd overall). So I would say that we are right behind Utah, Boise st., TCU & BYU in terms of football prowess & national respect so a win over ECU would earn more "style' points than a road win against the worst team in the Pac 10.

For the record, my point is that ECU doesn't get the credit it deserves.

That is what I was saying also. The casual observer not connected to either Pac 10 or CUSA probably thinks Pac 10=great, CUSA=suck.

I wasn't trying to say that you guys can't beat us. I know Jones will have SMU up & running either this year or next, look what he did out on the islands. SMU has a rich history & if it wasn't for that "death penalty" debacle u guys could be as good as OU or TEX. I'm sure u guys have strong backers & when you start winning, facilities & recruiting will improve rapidly (You guys already have drastically improved in attendance). I just wanted yall to recognize that we do play hard-nosed football. To be honest I'm kind of envious of your offensive scheme bc i wish we would open it up a little more but I can't hate on Holtz bc while we're not always fun to watch, our conservative offense & our hard hitting D have been effective. While we don't blow out a lot of teams we win most of those close battles, so I feel confident that if it is close in the 4th quarter our experienced players won't be rattled.

Good luck to both teams & hopefully there's no significant injuries on either side!

so the perception around the conference (at least from one fan of another CUSA school) is that our attendance has dramatically improved? I sure hope so. Saturday should be a good indicator. I would say 18-19k would be a positive sign
