Sounds like they did a pretty good job of incorporating the new mustangs without infringing on Peruna's current role. Although I agree that it'll be a ghost town when the players make that walk behind them. Wish the press release would've given a time of the walk. Anyone know?

Team leaves hotel at 11:15 and would arrive at the Mustangs statue around 11:30...

It would be better if Peruna was doing it....

Won't that conflict with the homecoming parade?

This is the 3rd different "walk" we've had since the stadium opened. The first two failed. This one will as well. I don't really care if the horses are around on gameday, but don't try to force another "tradition" on us. Is anyone really going to leave their spot on the Blvd. to see the team get off the bus and walk a few hundred yards to the stadium (outside of a few scattered family and friends)? So unnecessary...

I'm telling you the only way to do an effective team walk is straight down Bishop Boulevard, and that would have to come prior to the official start time of the 'vard. We need a four hour official 'vard tailgate period to do this.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

When I went to see us play UNC, their players pretty much walk about a half a mile to the stadium through the tailgate areas, etc. Fans all lined up. I agree, they should walk Bishop from Dallas Hall to the Stadium.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Well your press release was a nice job of spin. Have to give you credit because you know who really was negotiating Peruna's and the gelding's role. Or, maybe you have plausible deniablity.

It great students, a Peruna Handler, and SMU football players came together and played a part in deciding the role our new Mustangs will play on gameday. I hope to see the new Mustangs in their first homecoming parade as they become members of the SMU family. Go Mustangs.
