Or did the failures of each consecutive coach help pave the way for Jones to make his demands?

Bingo - Couch'em
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

This thread was about THANKS.

It makes me wonder why we can not be thankful even once on this board and slow down and smell the roses.

There are issues but this post is about being thankful to those that got us to where we are today.

Dear Lord thank you for our many blessings. That is it. That is all.
Peace be with you always in the sprit that was given through Jesus Christ. So Mote it Be.

That's because we have 1 or 2 miserable, bitter, negative son of a guns on this site. They can't stand to see people upbeat about anything at all. These people, (1 in particular) probably need our prayers more than anything. I can't imagine what it must be like, to wake up mad at the world everyday.

What I am thankful for is that June Jones brought with him coaches who know how to "coach up" players................

Stallion's right saying that all of JJ's predecessors would have done better without the very anti-competitive restrictions they were under. That really shouldn't be debated - it really shouldn't be debated that you can't win consistently with inferior athletes vs your competition.

That being said, one of the main themes underlying Stallion's posts is that no coaching staff can either recruit or coach x's and o's significantly better than their competitors. This thesis is going to be tested by June Jones. However, if JJ really is Neo and takes us beyond any realistic goals, like a BCS game, then Stallion is just going to say that SMU had this potential all along because of our tradition, our location, our resources or any other reason besides the coachin staff's ability that surpasses their peers. He can point to the early 80's as proof (the blatant cheating days, but of course, he'll say everyone else was cheating as well).

there is one poster on here-I won't mention his name but he ought to take his Sarah Pallin lovin', Birther movin', world is flat, racist prayers and shove it down his [deleted]. But of course, he really didn't get an education so we should say prayers for his ignorance

Did Todd Graham have a different model at Rice than Hatfield? Did Kragthorpe/Graham have a different model at Tulsa than Burns before them. Did Mike Price have a different model at UTEP than Gary Nord?

I agree Cavan/Rosseley/PB would have been better with the new model but is it enough who knows.
