folks in Hawaii probably still don't look too fondly upon the Coogs after their last bowl trip over there

Good point. It was a very volatile situation, especially with Hawaii as the home team. Embarrassing post-game altercation.

as to the other question...if Houston loses in the conference championship game...has USM played ECU already? If not, is there a chance of USM making the conf championship game?

I could see the Liberty Bowl with an Ole Miss-Southern Miss matchup

actually there is a clause in Liberty Bowl contract preventing some in intra-state matchups-the little weenies. I know Tennessee-Memphis and UAB-Alabama matchups are part of that clause and I think Ole Miss/Southern Miss may be. Here is a 2005 article discussing the clause

that would be fantastic.

and the perfect script would be that regulation ended in a 17-17 tie

You should come to Baltimore

Lived there for a year. Hated every minute of it. Memphis is way nicer....Detroit is actually nicer.

#1 Liberty-simply the best we can do
#2 St. Pete- nice payout and opponent will be a BSC team
#3 NOLA bowl- Pat Os and hurricanes.
#4 Helicopter bowl -nothing wrong with it, just no French Quarter.
#5 Hawaii- I can make the other bowls, can’t make this one but certainly will watch it.

I bet June could get us some Hawaii home cookin' with the refs in Hawaii. A bowl win beats a bowl loss.

Now please don't start the conspiracy theory that we might dog a game just to go to Hawaii! :P June was definitely speaking off the cuff. It was funny.

Why do I get the feeling that June is forcing the Hawaii Bowl down our throats? I know it would be a great trip for the players, but what about those of us who have helped keep this program on life support for the past 20 years until the Hawaiian God of Football showed up?
