Time is on our side comrade.
I believe you have the comparison reversed. The traditionalists are the South Vietnamese, French and Americans, whereas JJ and his crew are the VietCong. Who ambushed whom in the present scenario?
then you better learn your history because the VietCong untimately drove us out. anyway, this analogy is rather flawed and painful. Many of us "oldtimers" have friends who served and have lasting wounds and many who loss their lives.

It's all a matter of perspective

If you will notice...not one of them has a cowboy sitting on its back. I don't have nearly as much problem with the concept of having mustangs at the game and on the field...it's the cowboys that really don't belong.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I would venture to guess that your age is greater than your IQ.

Hopefully, whoever gives her the next beauty shop wash will start talking up the plight of the poor Haitians and she'll dump the horses and move on to Earthquake Victims in Haiti. T. Boone will just write the check.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Its not the:
Texas Longhorn TCU Horned Frog Arkansas Razorback Texas Aggie or Baylor Bear
either but those schools don't have 3 mascots running around the field claiming that they are Can you image 3 Reveille's running around barking their [deleted] off? How about 3 Longhorns on the Field?

MB67, My intent was not to disparage our troops, whom I personally have the highest admiration for...(did back then as a kid, do so today). DeGaulle advised JFK not to involve our troops in Vietnam in large part because he knew firsthand that you cannot sustain a war against an enemy who knows that eventually you will tire of the whole process. Eventually JJ goes back to his island, much as the French and US did. At that point, my bet is the horses began their inevitable slid to obscurity.
