Bottom-line

If TCU was in Dallas, their sales would be exponentially higher.

But they aren't and never will be.

It's fashionable to watch the Horned Frogs."

I disagree - the fans in Dallas are much more attracted to the pro game and/or the Big 12. Ft. Worth has a very different feel, and I think more people are likely to see TCU as "their team".

No matter how much we want it to happen, SMU will never really be Dallas's team - unless maybe the NFL labor dispute results in a 2+ year lockout

gostangs is right, it's all about winning. Its going to take a little bit of time but if things go as planned and we begin to achieve success like TCU has, I think we have a chance to see record numbers in terms of attendance. Moving to a BCS conference, while kind of up in the air now, would be enormous for us as well in terms of generating excitement around the program.

College football has grown enormously since our glory days, if we can start to produce a winning team year in and year out, I expect to see people flocking to Gerald J.

Dallas is attracted to a winner and a good time.

During losing seasons, I've been to Mavs, Rangers and Cowboys games that were full of empty seats.

SMU will be adopted by Dallas as we continue to win bowl games making us more relevant and more people are exposed to the boulevard making it a place to be on Saturdays.

SMU has to compete with the sports dollar against Mavs, Cowboys, Rangers, Stars, major league soccer, indoor football, etc....

We all draw from the metroplex fellas. It isn't like the world stops at the dallas city limits sign. Not all the pro teams fans come from dallas. Jeez you guys are delusional.

It takes a long time to bring fans back schools like TCU and smu. Size of the city has little bearing when the perception of the schools are a bunch of rich white country club types. That is why marketing to the metroplex is important. If you bank on just the city of dallas folks to come back in droves just because you are located in dallas you will be severely disappointed.
