True, but they were both wins over BCS automatic qualifiers! Coincidence?

Yeah it's two measly people, but if 2,000, 1,000, or even 500 of our core base does this, we start to see real improvement in attendance.
Don't let your friends know you called them measly. :) 8)

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

There won't be more TCU fans in the stands than SMU fans. It's never happened (like RE Tycoon, 60-40 is the worst I've seen and that was when Tech was visiting) and plus, it's Parents Weekend which means a lot of people will be at the game who usually aren't (a lot of parents buy tickets to the game on Parents Weekend).

Bring them to the blvd. Make them comfortable, introduce them to new people, get involved. Come by 33 for an ice cold refreshing beverage. I’m already ready…

I hate when people say that visiting teams out draw us. Agreed it is ridiculous that it's even close, but the closest I've ever seen is 60-40 SMU fans.

I am quite sure that when Texas Tech last visited us they outnumbered SMU fans.

Don't forget, a lot of the visiting fans sit in the "home" sections. There are a lot of SMU season ticket holders who give away their seats to friends and employees who root for the visiting team.

On Saturday, we even had several groups of WSU fans sitting in what were supposed to be SMU season ticket sections.

When Tech came here a couple years ago, there were many, many Red Raiders sitting in the SMU season ticket sections and even in the Stadium Club area.

I won't argue any other game with you, but at that game, Tech fans dominated the attendance.

TCU outnumbered SMU when Ladanian Tomlinson played at TCU. Game was played in November though. TCU won 78-something, In the 4th Q TCU outnumbered SMU fans 10-1

Going back to the Cotton Bowl days to try and validate points is like pointing to 17th century English law to win a court case here in the USA today.

The game was played in Ford Stadium-

Was that the first year Ford Stadium opened? As in the 3-9 year? I don't think TCU fans outnumbered SMU fans until they started blowing us out like 5 minutes into the game.

We were severly outnumbered at that game and it only got worse. I was by myself by the 3rd quarter with completely empty section on all sides of me. Weather was very cold and nasty, if I remember correctly. And wasnt it over the Thanksgiving break or something? That further killed the attendance. So there were some legit reasons why attendance sucked. Oh and our team sucked that year too. But I stayed till the end and yes the score was like 60 something to 7. TCU people actually walked over to me and complimented me for sticking through the beating.

It's therapy after finally getting into the sunlight after 20 years of bad football.
