I have a question for someone...at Gate 6, do they scan your ID card if you are using that to get in? Or do they just look at it and let you in? I graduated SMU in 2007 and while I was there, all you had to do was show the ID and you either got a ticket at will call or you could walk in at the gate. But then they started swiping the IDs.

The reason I ask is that I just started working at SMU now and I literally just got my faculty/staff ID card. But it hasn't been activated and I'm afraid that if they swipe it at the stadium, then it won't read and I'll be **** out of luck. I realize that my ID can get me and a guest into the stadium, so I'd be holding a friend's entrance to the game in my hands as well. But of course, if they just look at it, then I'm fine.

I’m just fearful that the season will be over to quickly after the bowl, and I will have to go on with my regular life.

No wait!!!!! I renewed my basketball seat and can still drink at Milo’s with my pals. O yea, you guys are going to have to buy your own tickets this year I just have ONE.

Mid afternoon there were less than 500 tickets left, it will be sold out early in Thursday morning. That leaves the rest of the day, and all day Friday, to sell standing room only tickets. Pony Up!

would be great to have these 2 programs remain strong and the SMU/TCU game to be a "tough ticket"

this game does seem to have more energy around it than any SMU/TCU game in a long, long time

SMU To Open South End General Admission Area For SMU-TCU Football Rivalry In Response To Sales Rush
Friday's Battle For The Iron Skillet Presented By StateFarm Kicks Off At 7 p.m.

Sept. 22, 2010

DALLAS (SMU) - To meet the demand for what is one of the hottest tickets in recent memory, SMU has opened up the south end of Ford Stadium for general admission for Friday night's SMU-TCU Battle for the Iron Skillet Presented by StateFarm. These tickets, which will sell for $20 each, are being offered in response to the overwhelming demand from fans, as a few reserved stadium seats remain. Sales are tracking towards setting a new stadium attendance record, breaking the mark of 34,749 set at the 2009 season opener.

These tickets will be available on-line at SMUMustangs.com and at the Athletics Ticket Office at Ford Stadium. For more information on ticket availability for the game, please call the Athletics Ticket Office at (214) SMU-GAME (768-4263).

On Friday, will-call windows at Ford Stadium will open at 9 a.m. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to pick up tickets in advance or arrive early on game day to avoid long lines at the will call windows and gates to Ford Stadium.

SMU is calling for a "RED OUT", and fans are asked to wear red to show support for the Mustangs.

Pregame activities leading up to the 7 p.m. kickoff will include a flyover of four U.S. Air Force T-38s and a performance of the National Anthem by Hawaiian music superstar Henry Kapono, who many Mustang fans will remember as the halftime performer at the 2009 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

SMU has won five straight home games and is 7-2 in the last nine games, the best mark for any nine-game stretch since the 1984 and 1985 seasons. At No. 4 in the AP poll, TCU is the highest-ranked team ever to visit Ford Stadium, the highest-ranked team SMU has hosted since No. 2 Texas in 1983 and the highest-ranked team the Mustangs have faced since No. 1 Notre Dame in 1989.
"It’s hard to overstate how impressive SMU has been on the recruiting trail since the ACC announced the Mustangs would be joining the league”
