If ever there was a time when you thought you'd see Jerry down on the sidelines coaching the team, this should be it. He has got to be livid.

They challenged the packer TD where if they won the challenge it would be 2nd and 1 inch. And used their other timeouts for no reason. So basically they were out of timeouts.

You have to have a time out to risk when you challenge. They were out of time outs so could not challenge.

because you've got 100,000 people paying a ridiculous amount of money to fill "Jerry World" and by keeping a guy around who has completely lost the team and obviously is not a head coach, you send a message to your season ticket holders that you don't give a damn about their money and the product you're putting on the field.

on the bright side, Dez Bryant is a stud

He's already taken that money to the bank. He changes coaches now, he is spending more money on the interim coach, going to be out ridiculous money for a new coach (Dungy, Cowher, Chucky) for a season that is likely not going to happen next year, and this season is still in the sh!tter anyway. He's rolling the dice that the fans don't quit on this team permanently (i.e. post lock-out 2 seasons from now), because they have already tuned out this year.

Agreed, but if Jason Garret is indeed the 'coach in waiting', they can just elevate him to interm coach with the same pay, as he is already getting HC pay now.
Some kind of change has to be made though.
Hopefully McCann will go back in as Phillips knows that McCann was indeed down and that the refs just gave GB a TD.

Whoever on the current coaching staff gets elevated to HC, they'll get more money, for sure.

And that still doesn't change the fact that he would then have no choice but to sign another head coach for more money than Wade makes to do nothing next year because the lockout is almost a certainty. As it stands, Jerry can just run the drafts with Wade as a puppet of a head coach, and not have to be out any more cash than he's already contractually obligated to pay. It's about cutting your losses at this point money-wise.

yes, it's probably due to the lockout next year. If they don't play, that coach is guaranteed money right?

Yep. And whatever comes out of the new collective bargaining agreement is going to throw a wrench into free agency. It's all about saving costs for every owner right now, because they are assuredly going to take it on the chin financially with no football next year. It could even get worse with the new CBA. So with a whole new world falling on them with all kinds of uncertainty, why the he!! would you want to pay $5-$7mm for a coach in name only next year?

Please be okay, McCann.

Why is Jenkins muggin' for the camera with those gawdy Green Bay stats showing under his name? Thrown at: 8, Completed: 8, Yards: 94, TD: 1. Yeah, helluva game you've got going on there, sport.
