I will go with this. The start of a tradition.

I like this train of thought. :D

was rewatching the Army/Navy game yesterday, at the end of the 1st half the commentator says "this army team is struggling to find any kind of offense" hopefully that's the same team we see thursday.

SMU probably is physically better than Army but if the Mustangs are not ready to play their best for the whole 60 minutes, we can easily lose this game. Army will play hard regardless of the score. This game reminds me a little of the Sun Bowl in 1983 against Alabama. SMU felt slighted as the SWC co champs to only go to the Sun Bowl and did not want to be there. Although the Mustangs were probably a little better than Alabama, they were not ready to play and Alabama beat us like a drum.

Difference is no one on the team feels slighted to be playing in this bowl game.

I hope you are right but did you read the interview with Beachum? I feel sure that some of the players who went to the Hawaii Bowl last year feel a little let down.

If they are part of this program and feel let down to be in a bowl then they have been completely asleep at the wheel. They can help get this thing built back up if they dismantle Army - we are due one of those games this year.

That is not what they told the DMN which by the way was picked up and printed in the Arkansas DemGaz this morning. Regardless of context it sure sounded bad to have 2 of our offensive leaders saying they wish they were not in this game. Sure we would all like the Rose Bowl but tact is a wonderful virtue.

if they don't like it then maybe they should use it as motivation to win the conference and go to Memphis next year!

I agree. What would have been amusing would have been to go 12-0 or 11-1 and have ended up in the Cotton Bowl.

I am tired of all the complaining about black uniforms so I am going to derail and say I don't agree with Dutch anymore.

If the players think they are cool, end of discussion for me.

Hopefully that doesn't carry over into the game, this is a bowl we should and need to win.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I glanced at Army's schedule a week or two ago and their wins came against teams like Sul Ross State, McMurry, and some six man HS team - obviously I'm just kidding, but my point is they didn't have any impressive wins. We should win handily.
