Cache,
Good luck. My belief is that when you donate to the Mustang Club, the money will be used for everything from tutors to creating monies for functions, etc.

Personally, I don't care how it's used. I know the $$ I contribute gets the athletic department closer to having what it needs.

Convince a friend or two to join. Memberships start at $50. There are $150 memberships too.

The goal is they want to increase the base of members. Currently at about 2600, everybody helps at getting to where they'd like to be at 4500.

So by donating through this link you will join the mustang club? I know this sounds stupid but I've never fully understood what the Mustang club does, benefits (if any) from joining and how to join. ...I've looked at their website but it's still a little fuzzy to me and I can't seem to find the "join us" link.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Thanks, OTP. Everybody keep spreading the word.

There is stability in the athletic department with Orsini re-signed. This is a collective effort for all of us.

Help build the foundation of members.

Thanks guys.

It sucks being an alum out here in the DC area, wish I could watch more games (perhaps the new deal with fox will help out???) and it seems like there's very little organized alum activity or presence. The Mustang Club will get one more member today!

Yeah I was at the Navy game both times it was in Annapolis, and agree that there are fans there. I guess what I mean is it's not organized. Like there's no SMU bar in DC where I know I can go and watch my Mustangs play in the company of other fans. So when you join the mustang club you get a list of watch parties? That's cool, didn't know that.

Concerning the mustang club luncheons and activities, would I be correct in assuming they're in Dallas?

Yes...but they do have events in all cities once or twice a year...

If you are under 30, there is usually a pretty good young alumni group in each city...

There should be an alumni rep for DC. Here's the site for DC
http://smu.edu/alumni/chapters/city/dc.asp

Also, if you graduated from Cox, there's a list of reps as well.

Cache,
Tell all your alumni friends in the DC area, who aren't in it, to consider joining. The memberships are reasonable.

Every dollar counts.

And yes, this is a grass roots campaign.

Go Mustangs!!

if anyone is not a member - it's nice to get the emails from the Mustang Club announcing upcoming events. This a huge perk, otherwise you are pretty out of the loop.

Time to sign up - surely you have a few bucks to spare to support the MC

Interesting that the Peruna level of MC is higher than the Mustang level...And Stallion has his own level even higher than that! ;)
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
