The seating question is a circular one. Again, I'd like to keep ticket costs <$75 so that total Membership cost is around $100. Whatever remains will go towards some sort of group item (shirt, etc.) however that relegates us to 109-114 (or 209-214) which to many of you will be a seat downgrade. Currently the Ticket Office does not negotiate ticket costs even for large large group but if that were to change, we could possibly sit in better sections which would attract more of you but without enough people in my group I have no leverage to begin with anyway. Yes, I could decide on a section in Ford and "take it over" but I'd much rather have a consistent place, a block of or entire section, with seats that we've paid for. You guys do know what I'm talking about when I say Supporters Group right? This: Seats together, occupying a significant portion of a section or this idea will undoubtedly flop.

No Membership, No Shirt. Sorry. Listen, I know for a lot of you the seat downgrade will be un-stomach-able, even considering the atmosphere it might bring, and I 100% get that. But this is about camaraderie and coordination, not Merch. If I could get enough of you, maybe I could twist the Ticket Office to get us better seats at a discount. So far, no go.

I can't remember if 200-201 doesn't require a donation. 109/209 would be good. Section 123? Sure would be nice if we could bring in noise makers.
Time has come to forget the past, start a new. - nothing Sherwood / death penalty related.
June's Army / Mustang Militia is good / Mustang Nation
No to June's Army. We've already changed too much of what was good to suit his whims. The man doesn't need anything else feeding his ego. These should be people that are with the program regardless of who the coach is.

4 people interested, not including myself, my fiance and the friends I would bring. Does anyone mind if I post the PonyFan names of people interested in joining? Having a visual of posters who are interested might encourage others...PM me again if you don't want to be on an "interested" list.

I don't mind if you list my PF name, but I can't imagine you'll have a lot of PF names to list--at any point soon. Chances are if you're a message board person you're a die-hard veteran with good seats (and you aren't going to move, nor should you). I would guess (and perhaps I'm wrong) that the average person in this new section would be newer to Ponyville. Back to my earlier comments, I think this is a great idea but it's one that should be co-coordinated by SMU (in my humble opinion). They can easily turn sections 109 and 209 into an official new section (the "Corral") and solicit ticket orders based on the fact that you're going to be sitting in a section of extra rowdy fans. Sign me up for 4 today! Hopefully some of our fellow message board Mustangs can help provide some direction and/or contact info within the AD. Keep going though!!
Agreed. I feel I need semi-reliable head count before I can begin detailed talks with the Ticket Office/Athletic Dept. If I say I want 100 seats and I bring only 25 people, we (the Ticket Office and I) both look stupid. I contacted Terry and you contacted Debbie and both seemed amused/amenable to the idea, but until I know how many I have, I'm not sure what I can say or what kind of negotiation power I have. I'll start a group on Facebook to reach out to my 06' classmates, fraternity and whoever else I can get there. Most people on here do have great seats which they've had forever that I'm sure they wouldn't want to give up. I have no illusions about that. This is only worth it for people want the guarantee that they'll be surrounded by active fans and want to be as proactive as they possible can be in making Ford the experience they want it to be. If enough people have an "interest", even a fainting one, maybe I can re-approach Terry and say, "Terry we have all these season ticket holders in 104 that want to join my rowdy section, can you move them down to the first 5 rows of 104 and allow everyone else in my group to buy seats there at a discounted rate?" He still may say no but couldn't hurt.

I am sure couch 'em will agree that the best name would be the INSANE PONY POSSE!
But Mustang Maniacs would not be a terrible name and easy for everyone to remember.
Will wearing black jerseys be allowed in this section?.....lol

JJ wouldn't like that since it would be affiliated with the mascot he can't stand.

Like the idea of having a "rowdy", "maniac", "militia" or whatever it gets called group/section. Although, I feel this already occurs in the Stadium Club. Doubt SMU will discount tickets or be excited about moving season ticket holders from higher price-point/donation seats to a lesser. However, this could be a good way to market to more recent grads and bring new people to the games who want to be loud and have some fun. Next to student section. Donation to MC as a "maniac" gets you on record as a member and access to this area. Being a maniac has it's privileges.
