From a sheer consumer standpoint it is baffling. I have dozens of jerseys for american football, football, gaelic football, rugby football, hurling etc., and that is the norm where I come from. Yet here are people who object to the wearing of jerseys by fans.... You can, of course, think what you like, but I thought I'd remind you that the rest of the world thinks you're approach to game day apparel is the odd one
I agree 100%. The funny thing is is most international soccer teams change their jerseys every year or two - and the fans buy them and wear them to all of the matches. It's a goldmine and I can't believe the teams here in the US haven't found a way to tap that market better.
It's true. I buy at least one of Glasgow Celtic, Manchester City and Republic of Ireland's jerseys (each have three or four a season) every year. But it is also true that, especially at SMU it is often hard to get fans to show up wearing anything that might indicate who they are rooting for. This is something that I believe will change with success. It's a pride thing. I mean, for Pete's sake, in Fort Worth you find people wearing Purple.....not exactly a fashion-driven choice, and we have one of Sports most enduring and classic emblems.

Last years seniors were given their blue jerseys on senior night. I would say blue is gone. Wonder if we will see black again?

With as superstitious as June is, I would hope not. The only time we ever wore black the entire event, on and off the field, was an abomination. Lost to a terrible opponent, offense stunk it up, all those garbage off-field distractions created by somebody...

You don't look cool...sorry
That's one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read. Tell that to the millions of fans who wear jerseys and replica jerseys to NFL, NHL, MLS, NBA, MLB and college sports. Comet wrote:We need blue jerseys again..
Amen, Comet. I'd add to my collection, especially if adidas went old school and made some replicas from the Pony Express days.
