I think and hope you are right. It really comes down to what UT and OU want. If they want to rebuild then it rebuilds. Ultimately best case if the conference breaks up would be BU, SMU, and UH joining the MWC.

If true, the nightmare scenario is coming to fruition. CUSA will turn into the equivalent of the Sun Belt and SMU will be left once again when the music stops. This is what happens when your school spends 25 years trying to make up for its mistakes. We got serious about sports too late in the game.

ND joining would be interesting. The rest of them are just fill ins. Not happening though. There is very little incentive for ND to leave their current position.

As for SMU. All we can do is hope, pray and drink. The Big 12 is going to blow up. Adding 1 team isn't going to keep this together. Let's just get it going already. I'm ready to see A&M get worked in the SEC year end, year out.

we're still trying to figure out how to recruit the metroplex around here. Accepting that those Dallas kids will turn us down before we ever knock on their door. While at the same time boasting that we've got a great chance at any kid that sets foot on our campus

You want to join the Big Boys-you got to beat the Big Boys-you want to beat the Big Boys-you got to recruit with the Big Boys. The Big Boys around here recruit Texas because its a goldmine. The little Boys look for sleepers

The fact of the matter is that if Houston leaves CUSA and we are left holding the bag again we are in an extremely bad situation. CUSA is forced to add someone like UNT, La Tech, Troy, Middle Tennessee State....VOMIT. Triple vomit. We have to hope for one of these outcomes:

1. Big 12 wants to actually be 12- Needs 3 member institutions at that point and hammers home a championship game.

2. A&M stays - averts the crisis a little longer.

3. MWC-CUSA merger - Fight for survival. These conferences have to know the only way to stay alive in all this mess is strength in numbers. Petition NCAA for auto BCS bid for winner of annual match between CUSA-MWC champ.

4. Jump off the overpass at Mockingbird and 75.
