So if by chance the B12-2 decided to take TCU and they left the BE do you think the BE would go after SMU to keep the DFW market?

GO PONIES!!!
Re: What is/should UT doing/do?did they take tcu for DFW market or because their football programs are so weak they needed some more fire power before the next BCS analysis and the unknown of what teams might be perched from the big east last year during the reshuffling.....
Re: What is/should UT doing/do?The Longhorns are interested in three things:
1. Being in a conference with fewer than 12 teams so that there will be no playoff. 2. Playing as many non-conference games as possible at home (and Rice at Reliant Stadium). 3. Cornering the TV money for themselves. No interest in the best interests of the sport of college football at all.
Re: What is/should UT doing/do?BE would not double down on Texas, if TCU split. TCU is committed to their BE path, unless UT and Big12 go big, as in membership.
Pony Up
Re: What is/should UT doing/do?If they pick SMU, we will gladly play our games with UT on the LNW just to get in their conference and to think I wasn't even going to consider buying the LNW.

i'd like to know what is being said on the UT boards, aggies are proven conspiracy theorists "There ain't nothing you can't solve with one more beer"
Re: What is/should UT doing/do?Texas' first move is to go to the Networks and try to convince them to keep the same $ on the table for 9 as they had for 10. It looks like that was quickly dismissed. So UT is sitting down with all the other AD's and running numbers on who will keep the Big XII money up. Notre Dame obviously comes to mind, so they get a call, and they politely turn it down. BYU is a poor mans ND, so they get a call, and act surprised. But they are a good fit and if I was betting on this thing they are who I bet on.
AFA brings Colorado, kind of, and a national market, kind of, but I have to think they are kind of a weird fit for the Big XII. I dunno. AFA isn't built to compete year in and year out in a major conference, I believe, or maybe the Army officer in me hopes they are worried about other things. Louisville has REALLY pulled it together over the past decade, they definitely warrant a look. Memphis by default does to. But UT and OU want the Big XII to stay open for buisiness, so it will. Ill say this: UT has been critized for its trying to run the Big XII in this thing, but it's LACK of effort that caused this. Everybody saw the Pac 10 going after CU and UT again, and most knew CU would go. UT should have figured out that pulling up 6 schools and taking them West wasn't going to work. That, and the 12th spot in the Big 10 should have made the other schools who knew they weren't going nervous. If UT individually and the Big XII as a whole had taken any kind of a chance and expanded (you know, like the SWC should have?), locking up Utah and someone else, BYU or otherwise, they may have been able to avert disaster. But now they are stuck playing catch-up.
