Just to clear things up, the guy is actually a Cornhusker, who happens to really love the Ags. And the comment about historical purposes is because there are so many inside jokes within the A&M football board that one of the more popular posters created a thread to explain all of them, and it gets updated every so often when something crazy/weird happens over there. (And judging by the name of this thread, you're probably aware that it happens often.)

This thread is money. And don't forget the Aggie Band Halftime Funeral Procession climaxing in the 100 yard long block T formation. For those too young to know the story, in 1974 the Aggies came into the Cotton Bowl ranked #1 in the Country to play the Mustangs. At halftime, the Aggie Band went into their march to set up that formation, when the music ended they were in a lopsided y instead of a T. SMU won the game as well to really spoil their day.

I was in Jr High at the time and attended that game. I think A&M was ranked #5 in the country, definitely not #1.

My father knew someone on their staff and that evening I had dinner with their family as well as other A&M alumni, students and a couple of their players. I wore an SMU sweatshirt. It was a great evening.

The guy is now throwing a barbecue and inviting anyone and everyone. What could go wrong there! Amazing, you couldn't write this stuff. Here is his invite to all texags:

"i FEEL OBLIGATED TO DO THIS. HERE ARE THE RULES.

Okay I need someone to come and recon my house and see how many it can hold. i will need for someone to bring the barbucue pit. I have a small barbuceu. I would like a Texas flag and a Texas am flag with temporary flag pole stands. i want to turn the whorn flag upside down and maybe [deleted] on it or break its horns off. I will take down the fence as to what it looked like when the guy walked out and saw it in the morning. If you want to help put it back up with just a couple of guys should take about ten minutes or less. I will need to know by wednesday if this can happen If I have to I will buy the whorn flag and temporary pole. Group effort could make this thread an epic one to rember. Also I would like this to start by noon and end by 6. If you are a ex grunt you definitely have to leave by six. grunts can get out of control togehter and the fence thing would be nothing. The weirdest thing I ever saw from Aggies was back very long ago in the Cotton Bowl days prior to the 70s (or very early in the 70s). A bunch of Aggies were driving through the Fair Grounds area in a convertible. Something mid size though I can't remember the exact model.

The Sr. Aggies (in their riding boots) were sitting in the back, screaming at the driver that I assume was a Fr. They would yell at him to stop and go based on the appropriate traffic signal. The poor driver had to jump out of the car and do push ups multiple times with those Sr standing over him yelling the entire time. Seems the poor fellow could not stop and start and get through the intersection. And of course it was a flashing red light.

This was on a crisp clear day in the later part of the fall. My parents were walking myself and my older sister to the stadium. Both were SMU grads and both seem to understand the foolishness of the situation. I thought it was utter madness but I was a little kid.

But I can still see those Aggies yelling 'Stop', 'Go', "you dumb [deleted], drop and give me 20" as if I was going to a game today.

hell yeah, they're going to go. the aggies are just as curious about all of this as we are.

if someone took down my fence, i'm not so sure i'd let him have a party a week later to celebrate it. i'm afraid he might get shot the first time around.
