Me 4.....there's a reason JJ is in there. He will be fine going forward and if the WR's had of made at least one of those catches that were thrown long, we would have been much happier. JJ looks cool in the pocket, goes through his progressions well, doesn't have happy feet and will do some good things in the coming weeks. He was pretty accurate and and the WR's are supposed to come back to the ball on short passing routes and the only one that does this well is our 'oh so small' possession receiver Beasley, that caught 10 passes last night. The WR's actually caught passes in stride and on the outside shoulder away from the DB's last night....oh and guess what?.... the QB will miss some passes, as all the great ones do as well. The coaches play calling in the second half was plain weird and looked as if we were just trying to run the clock down, even though we weren't totally in command.

Dallas Morning News Want Ad: Local university looking for offensive genius. Haven't seen one since mid-80's. Must not have ignorance to school traditions, must not make excuse about lights, must not try to change school colors, and most not wear plants around your neck.

Uhh isn't the whole selling point with RnS that it takes inferior talent and or athleticism and levels the playing field against superior opponents?

Ponyscott, I disagree with the accuracy comment. JJMcD turns every pass into a comeback route. His throws force our receivers to make some pretty tough grabs. I don't think he hit a receiver in stride all night. Even when he did lead the receiver, it seemed they really had to reach for it. He doesn't seem to have the arm for some of the downfield throws either.

Way disagree Junior. Watch it again...there were many passes that were thrown exactly on the run which we haven't had for a while. Could he have been accurate on more passses?....sure, don't all QB's? But all in all he works. Too many dropped passes makes a QB look bad.

Ok we will agree to disagree, but he's more accurate than KP.

i'll go back and watch the game again, but in person it just seems that he's not. He might be overall, but especially on the plays that were near me last night, it just really seemed that the receivers had to make some tough adjustments to get to the ball.

He went 12-15 in the first half for 190 yards ( whats wrong with that in his first ever start?) and then with the multiple drops and weird play calling he went 6-16 in the second half. Again no ints either ( although there were two that could have been ints) JJ QB Ratings for his first two games: Texas A&M 21-34-0 61.8 254 1 28 6-34 134.22 UTEP 18-31-1 58.1 244 0 33 0-0 117.73 TOTALS 39-65-1 60.0 498 1 33 6-34 126.36

Except on the long overthrowns, JJ's passes were consistently to the wrong shoulder. He made it very difficult for our receivers. His throws were short and often our receivers had to make significant adjustments just to get to the ball. The receivers made some very difficult receptions which bailed JJ out. It makes it very difficult to run routes with an inaccurate passer. I was even less impressed in person than on TV. If this level of inaccuracy continues we will see our young receivers soon as our current receivers are going to get killed

Not to mention Utep should have had 2 more interceptions than they had because of bad throws, JJ showed me nothing that thinks he should be in there ahead of Padron
