You have to give a little break on this one. It was a late cancellation by Baylor or the package would have been better.

The only fact I know is Don Canyon is on their team-whatever they call it. Therefore I predict that if we don't beat this team by 4 TDs there is something wrong. I don't care about this game-I'm just goin' to be there to keep my 47 year streak going. Probably rather stay home and watch real College Football on TV. This is the bastardization of College Football and I hate anybody that had anything to do with scheduling this opponent.
Huh - tell that to every single BCS school that schedules no name schools every single year in the first two weeks. Face it...College fball is really destroying itself and it's getting worse and worse. And yes - as mrydel said - should be Baylor.

First of all, I am neither a SMU fan, nor a NSU fan. I am a football fan that moved to the Dallas area from another state and misses his college football. I adopted SMU as the team I would support. I love the job June is doing and enjoy attending a game from time to time. I use to make alot of practices before being locked out.
What irks me is that 'some" SMU fans put down lower level programs just the way they hate it for major programs like LSU, UT, A&M, etc. put them down. Believe me, many Aggies told me that they hated having a school like SMU on the schedule. The ignorance of fans often comes out in their writing.Take a look at the last 20 years and tell me who has more NFL players, SMU or NSU? I went to the TCU vs NSU game seven years ago when NSU beat the Horn Frogs. I must say I do not remember the arragance of the TCU fans like some SMU fans. Just remember everyone is trying to survive and improve their programs. I have been to SMU to see SFA and Texas State, of which one was a very exciting game. These are Texas high school players that are in some cases just as good as what SMU has recruited. I don't think NSU will be intimidated by the crowd after BR last year. It is amazing that a Top 5 program like LSU can have fans that understand that an AD or coach cannot send their team out 11 weeks in arow aganst equal competition. The SEC is tough enough, then add West Virginia and Oregon and NSU fit nicely in the schedule, while also putting $450,000 in their budget.
As fans complain about this game, remember there are plenty of teams out there that do not want to bring in a team like SMU to play. I have coached in high school for many years, and I see nothing wrong with 5A teams playing 4A teams or 4A teams playing 3A teams. I do understand that NSU maybe only a upper 2A type program or a low 3A, but the last time I checked SMU was not in 5A. My suggestion for Stallion is to just stay home. He is the type of fans that wants to see only the Yanks and RedSox and gives away tickets to Oakland or Cleveland.

No the fact is that the real fans of those big schools HATE these games as much as I do. They just shell out thousands of dollars for season tickets for one of only 6 games on the schedule and they attend these rip-offs because they are loyal to the program and love College Football. A large percentage of SMU Season Ticketholders will pass just like they yawn at the prospect of attending the numerous cream puffs on our basketball schedule. They at least want to attend a game that makes some semblence of sense-not a match with a school they probably never knew existed. The only redeeming value in these games is that some Coaches get fired when they lose these games. If the Fans had a vote these mismatches would never be scheduled. Congrats on your victory over Delta St.

I think it would be neat if the Texas Rangers scheduled the Tulsa Drillers or Toledo Mudhens-hey let's get the Dallas Cowboys to schedule the Dallas Desperados.

I am just glad we have moved up enough to schedule cupcakes if we wish (this is not meant to imply anything about NSU) rather than just being one. I used to laugh so hard when people would complain that we never scheduled any cupcakes and we were ranked 116 in the nation. At least now we are in the middle of the pack.

All I know is that this team needs an apparent easy game like this badly. I'm grateful for the timing of this. We aren't ready for UCF or TCU.
Stallion, nobody is saying you have to go and nobody would know if you missed the game, only you.
I'm going to enjoy the good weather, blvd., and hopefully a blow out.
