My two cents... For the sake of full disclosure, I am a KP backer. He needs to relax and just play. He looks like he is trapped in his own head. He tries to be perfect on every play. If his limited play time at the moment slows him down with little to no pressure I am for it. He still has an upside.

"Kyle looked better all last year long than anything i have seen so far from McD starting against weak competition. Kyle was unsettled tonight when he got in the game i agree, but can you blame him? I think you have to pick a QB and ride him, and I would pick KP 7 days a week.[/quote]

Hoop fan, you are way off and need to stay with basketball...a repeat from me: If you are a D-1 coach with a second year QB starter with a 3-5 record in his last 8 games and was going to go 3-6 ( TAMU was going to to be the 6th loss) in his last 9 starts and one of those wins was against THE worst rated defense in the Conference ( ECU) and also one of the worst ranked in the Nation and SMU had to win it in Overtime with a DEFENSIVE INT (Richard Crawford) , and one game of the wins (Tulane) was won after the QB was throwing the ball away and the WR actually went and caught it for a lucky TD ( Aldrick Robinson) , there should be unrest in the ranks and a shakeup, whover is the QB even if he is a great kid. The first half of all those games had either no SMU touchdowns or very few points, which made all the second half's a come back situation. In addition, with all of his work with the WR's and his multiple starts over the past two years, he should be hitting his stride, not regressing.
Kyle worked his friggin [deleted] off this past off season, looks good physically, is a great kid and wish him the best and hope he comes out of this funk....in other professions could it be called 'performance anxiety'? He means well and wants to be good, he just has to make it happen when he is in there. The coaches lost faith in Kyle for a reason, and Kyles knows it better than ALL of us. He HAS to engineer the wins. All this talk about JJ not winning his first start are also BS, as he engineered the win, however he did it. We watched the replay at the Monday lunch and as Jones showed the passes in Slow motion, the throws were good, caught on the run and one of the passes that didn't look good where Beasley had to come back to catch it on the 9 yard line, there was a reason he threw it that way. His QB rating was a 136 for the game, whats wrong with that?

We should be behind whomever is out there and if they aren't winning on a consistent basis, we should be concerned. Lets see what JJ can do the next two weeks and when Kyle gets in the game, we should be behind him and hope he kicks [deleted], and then we really have a QB controversy."

Kyle unfortunately didn't do anything really well last night against NW State ( and that last fumble by KP was inexcusable IMHO ..call a TO if there was confusion), but either did Mcd, so lets hope next game is better for both of them. Last night sure didn't create a QB controversy in any way.

You can't count on the lunch film because June usually only throws highlights. I've watched every pass JJ threw in the Utep game and all but 4 of them needed to be better. JJ is ok but KP has more talent and I personaly feel that you should give the ball to the guy with the most talent because in KP's case the upside outwieghs the bad IMO. Also its pretty hilarious as you completely discount KP's win against ECU (even though that was a good team on the road) and then give JJ all the credit for UTEP (when again it took a Defensive TD to win the game)

It was a response to another thread but whats hilarious about a kids FIRST QB start winning with a good QB rating, even though the D solidified the win? And ECU was a terrible, horrible D last year. KP has had many starts and should be hitting his stride and he hasn't, is the point. I have also watched the UTEP game and improvements could be made by all, including MCd and yes we all know its highlights at the lunch....the point is?

KP also had Al last year. Had JJM had Al he would probably look better as well. I just know that both need to improve IMO.

Pretty sure this is the second time (at least) you have mentioned that SMU won the ECU game on a defensive interception. You do know that SMU had scored a td on the prior overtime possession right? Why do you dwell on the fact that the last play was by the defense? Would it be different for you if the defense had made the stop first then SMU had scored?

so will McD's pick over the middle in the third quarter be on Monday's highlights? Like to hear the analysis of that one. If you say a receiver was supposed to be there fine, no one was, so you can't throw it there. That was BLM like. What is it with June's obsession with qbs from Katy? I bet you guys were the ones all on board about BLM back in the day and were willing to throw Willis under the bus with all this happy feet crap just like you are with Padron now. Give KP protection and a pocket and he will carve people up. thats the thing that is not consistent enough.

Love KP but he looks like he has lost his mojo. Confidence is a tricky thing and he just looks like he hasn't had it since after the TCU game last year......Holding the ball, locking on one receiver, ill timed turnovers, you name it. It was all on display last night in the second quarter. I think he needs to hold a clip board, observe, and try to learn to slow the game down before he gets his shot next year. The game just looks too fast for him at the moment.

From my vantage on JJ's int, looked like the receivers stopped their routes but I could be wrong.

SMU is going to have trouble with either QB unless they spread the ball around more. It doesn't matter against NWS but it will against good teams.
