Under your scenario, they will need more than two schools.

They will have:

Cincy
WVU
UConn
Rutgers
USF

They can take ECU, UCF, and SMU to help out football and add Memphis to get to 9 (nice number for a conference) and add another basketball power.

I don't understand why the b12 would pick louisville over us. They have a small market, no real fball presence and I would guess their stadium is smaller than our possibly expanded one.
TCU and BYU I understand. I also feel we offer more than cougar high. We could expand our facilities very quickly while cougar high is still out begging for money. We certainly offer more than L'ville and cougar high when it comes to academics.

GO PONIES!!!

Pickens actually asked Rick Perry — a former Aggie yell leader — to fix the problem after his alma mater lucked into a better deal in a better conference? Can you imagine how badly he'd screw that up? Thankfully, he has never seen a problem he can't ignore, so nothing will come of it.

This could be FANTASTIC for us.
If the Big XII stabilizes (and might even expand) and and the BE implodes, that means you have anywhere from 3 to 5 schools now desperate for a conference and nowhere to go but to C-USA. Jesus, that would actually put C-USA almost on even terms, because the have NOWHERE to go but to this conference. There is no merger, just possibly the Big XII stealing a school or two from the Big East.

But no, my money is that 3 or 4 schools raid this conference and take what they want, not BB and the AD's actually working together and working a deal for a 14 or 16 school conference based in the deep south. That would actually make SENSE.

Louisville's market is smaller but completely untouched by the Big XII. Their football stadium is now at 55,000, can be expanded for much more, and considered to be the nicest on-campus one in the Big East. Many football coaches feel that's the best job in Big East football right now. Their basketball facility is brand-spanking new and possibly the nicest in the country right now, and they could have won the national championship the past couple of years.

If it weren't for academics and the commuter school rep, Louisville could have a chance to be a player.

Don't forget, thier football stadium is named after a pizza company, I think that really draws the kids to the program.
