[deleted] I put up with 20 years of crap-not going to stop now. These are glory years compared to the Ken Pye Probation Era. -Few non-BCS schools will be able to beat us with the facilities and academic Model we have in place now

Despite our current circumstances concerning conference alignment, I agree with you, Stallion. The false hope of the nineties and first half of this past decade generated lot of angst for alumni and fans. Keep improving, make some bold moves and win big games is our path. We will be rewarded because of the quality in everything thing we do.

P.s. Insert plea for new Natatorium here!

Just a speculation, but if the Big 12 adds TCU, UL, Cincy & WVU after a Missouri defection then I expect that Texas and OU may leave the conference in 2014. I could see UT and Notre Dame joining the Big 10 in 2014 and OU/OSU joining the SEC. That would put us in a better position to join a further weakened Big 12, and our best chance at joining an AQ conference.

Agreed. But IF we take a conference step down -- and I do not believe we will -- I'm not supporting this crap any more. I'm not interested in playing UTSA and La Tech. Raze Ford Stadium and put in a baseball field at that point.

Agree. There's a recent quote from b12 ad that they could grow in stages. Move now and in 2013 to 16

I still think they might surprise everyone and be proactive and move to 16 now.

Yes, at some point it dies. SMU is still a Southwest Conference team for me. Though we were a middle of the road team historically in that conference -- with occasional shows of greatness early and late in our time there -- the SWC was our history for 70 years. The timing of the DP in the 1980's couldn't have been worse and we were since left in lesser conferences on the outside looking in.

We take that additional step to playing teams the likes of UTSA and UNT in conference, I am gone. It's dead and buried at that point.

REITERATE: I don't believe this will happen. I believe there is a plan in place to improve our situation.

Sorry, that real estate is way too valuable for a baseball field.

What else would you put there?

Natatorium, of course.
