Markets are worthless if no one cares about the team. By that logic we should be in the SEC BIG TEN Or pac 12 or ACC.

But people do care about Texas and Oklahoma. New Orleans is simply another market for these already successful teams to penetrate. Tulane is the vessel through which they can accomplish this. At worst, games in New Orleans would serve as off-campus home games for current Big 12 teams, and that is still enough to generate substantial interest in Louisiana.

When you already have marquee programs, it is simply a matter of adding new markets in which to showcase them.

I guess but honestly the entire state of Louisiana = LSU... I mean everybody who even has family roots in the state pulls for LSU, they might have the biggest group of unaffiliated fans in the country along with a few other big state SEC schools.

What does the Big 12 think they are honestly going to accomplish going in there? I don't care if Texas is playing Tulane in New Orleans, if LSU is playing anytime around that game then every single person in that city is watching the LSU game.

Every single thing you said can be applied to SMU and the SEC, Big TEN, PAC12, and ACC. If this is so smart why aren't these guys beating down our door? We have a much larger market.
