Re: Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'Maybe Navy does the honorable thing and stipulates that they will only come if SMU is also invited so that they can continue playing for the Ganz trophy without wasting a non-conference game.
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
Re: Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'
I agree, but the BE must stabilize for Navy to commit. If WVA or L'ville leave, then Navy backs away. Stability and that brings AFA and Navy together, then Boise, then UCF, then SMU and Houston. Pony Up
Re: Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'In fact, Navy has said the reason they can not commit is that they are waiting to see the types of programs that are chosen before they can commit. seemingly Navy would find SMU a positive
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'Has there been any inclination that Boise would say yes? Does Army's decision to stay independent effect Navy in any way?
Re: Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'Just hate to see Temple get an invite. They got kicked out! But hey, it's about markets. Temple has been decent the last couple of years so they are not as bad as they once where.
I agree with Stallion, if Navy wants in or any academy they are in. But wasn't a recent report, like this morning, stating either Temple or Navy and that Louisville moves to the Eastern division if Boise joins? Everything is so damn fluid and changing every moment, can't keep up with things. And I read this board more than work lately.
Re: Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'Good for Temple. It was BS they got kicked out in the first place. Outside of that, I don't care.
In five years the Big East will look like this: UConn South Florida Temple Boise State (In football only) Cincinnati SMU Air Force McGill College Memphis, who has just gone 0-13 and plays in front of 1,500 people a game, and East Carolina, who is 13-0 and averages 75,000, will still be begging to get in. The Big East, who will have no top 25 team, will still be worried about it's BCS bid and will be looking at bringing in the next big football power, Vancouver Baptist Bible Seminary, to save it's hide. The conference will be looking at kicking Temple, who has tanked, out again. Somebody in the Big East will talk about it's 'tradition.' I will officially be forced to never see an SMU away game again due to the $1000 round-trip air fare to its destination. Ugh. I think we are making a mistake getting into bed with these loonies if they don't have a legitimate long range plan involved.
Re: Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'If we do get a BE invite, I guess we'll see how serious those "talks" with the SEC were. SEC, consider yourself on notice.

Re: Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'How about doing a curve ball. Navy, Army, AFA, SMU, Tulsa, Rice, Tulane, Rutgers, UConn, WVA, Temple, and Cincy. This would make the Academies happy and provide a majority of academic institutions. Then we could move toward BCS later.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'
If this is a serious post, I need to start reading a different message board. ![]()
Report: Boise State, Temple invites 'imminent'You guys are crazy. If the BE calls we go. Simple as that. If no one and that includes us are in the Top 25 in that league then we will never be a Top 25 team and can pack it up. We have no shot at getting into the SEC. I'll be more than happy to eat my words if that happens. But thinking we are worse off for going to the BE given all our current scenarios is ridiculous. A watered down CUSA is better?
