We don't have white SMU shirts but my son and I will wear white. I agree that it's better to do a white out against a team like Louisville that has a small, local following, but oh well.

This is really similar to dealing with your kids. You may disagree with your wife but you put up a united front for the kid. Argue about it later. I don't agree with 10% of what SMU has dragged out of the clown car and called Sports Marketing over the last decade plus. But sitting down with your thumb up your [deleted] and smiling doesn't help. You're not changing the conversation and you're hurting the efforts (however misguided) of the school you claim to love.

Color scheme. I want to see if SMU can actually pull this off and not let UTSA (who is doing their white out in a couple of weeks for their home opener against Oklahoma State) and UL-Monroe (who did white out against Baylor last year and looked solid on ESPN in addition to them selling out their stadium for the first time ever.

The student section will wear white and it will look very good. Although it is small, television usually does a good job of zooming in and making it look like a bigger area than it is. It will not look like Penn State when they do it but it will look good looking from west to east.

UL-Monroe did a very good job with their Friday night game. They were on a huge roll and nearly knocked off Baylor. The Bears also don't travel too well. However, UTSA has a much larger chance for failure. The fan base is made up of random SA residents and some students. OK State will travel well. Also, there isn't as much excitement at UTSA as there was when the program started, even though they're entering FBS. The issue with SMU's white out is the very large number of Tech fans in the Metroplex. I believe Tech went with a black out against Houston in 2009. That win is my favorite game all time at Robertson. Then again, Tech doesn't have as much of a fanbase in H-Town.

Why do you care? 100% of the posters on here hate the idea of the white out. We already know it's going to flop you're the only one that seems to act like it has the possibility of being a success while hoping it fails so you can do what? Remind us that we were right?
