What bothers me is that our guys don't play with any intensity or urgency. The last minute of the first half, they were playing as if we had a forty point lead. The lack of clock management was just stunning. I'm not a guy who likes to "outcoach" the coach- I admit that I know little about calling plays or formations. On the other hand, I have seen more urgency in MBand practices than our guys on the field in a nationally televised game. It's one thing to be cool and confident, but this was a lack of fire that I don't understand.

It's just a preseason game.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I can't recall us ever wining a game against a team that runs a hurry up offense. In fact, if you recall the TCU game we won in ft worth last time - we were literally dominating them until they went hurry up, and we then almost found a way to lose that game.

Just saying, you would think we would be simulating that in practice until they dreamed about it in their sleep. Also, after five teams a year beat us with it for six years now, an offensive genius might think to himself....gee - I wonder if that could work for us?

At least with signaling in plays you have a chance to install it.

I've always wondered what the signal is for our guys to fall down after plays when the hurry up offense starts working for the other team.........
