he'll be fine against lesser competition. I tried to tamp down the giddiness-he's fast just not real fast

I do wish they (we) could solve whatever is keeping KC off the filed (blocking or whatever), this kid has skills, speed and quickness. I hope he gets some touches this week, would like to see what he can do .... but not at the risk of getting GG killed.

Definitely not writing Shead off but 9 carries for 22 yards is not knocking 'em dead. And throw in the 2 fumbles out of 9 carries and I am not impressed yet. Take the 12 yard carry out and that means 8 carries for 10 yards. Of course, again, the 2 fumbles hurt the average.

I just saw a very tentative back with average speed. Hopefully when he is healed he will loosen up a little and we can see what hopefully he is capable of.

I want him on the team and hope he turns into an All American. I just did not see it Friday night.

JJ summed it up pretty well when he said Shead was still a bit uncomfortable with our schemes...a different style of running than what he has been accustomed to. Zach got better and better at waiting patiently for his holes and them hitting them quickly; he was also pretty elusive once he got past the line of scrimmage, but was never a burner. Let's hope Shead recovers quickly and we get to see what he might become in 2 years time, but I agree that opener was not impressive.

It's far too early to write Shead off despite a less-than-stellar-abbreviated performance. He's got to hang onto the ball better and our line play is going to have to pick up as well.

his outside swing pass threat definitely helps us - so for that alone we need him back. The backers ramped up on blitzes the second he left the game and we had a much harder time moving the ball. then our stellar kicking game took over.
