Texas A&M 66, SMU 8 (2005). Previous week we beat TCU 21-10, which was a huge upset as the Horned Frogs had just defeated Oklahoma in Norman; it was TCU's only loss that year.

By the end of the game its 56-3. That was the worse loss in SMU history until post DP.

And we were not a devoid of talent like some other SMU teams later. We had future NFLers A Whittington, R. Wesson and B Fisher. And a furture All-American in E Tolbert.

On top of it all Meyer said to the team 'Don't get on the plane unless you believe we can beat Alabama." And it was published in the papers.

I didn't believe but I wasn't gonna miss the trip. And it was humiliating.

Ouch. Love Meyer's moxie though.

I think I remember from the RON MEYER SHOW, when it was 28-3 at the half, he told the team:
We've gottem right where we wantem :!: 8)
May the forth be with us.
