Dr Baker who is the main team Doc is also as good as it gets. They put in a lot of time ... early hours weekends etc with the team. His (their Carroll Clinic is one of the best, an absolute first class facility). The Cowboys team doc works out of there as well. Next home game, take a closer look at what they do. They are not BS'n or day dreaming on the sideline. Wow, we've gotten so po'd about everything, we are now taking shots at the doc's.

The team doctor when I was there '68-72 was Dr. Baker. Surely not the same one is it? He would have to be around 80. Just a question certainly not a criticism. Loved him.

This is really a bizarre thread
-better question is who called for a Maroon Out in the downsized SMU Visitors Section while all of you were watching and screen saving TV shots at the SMU sideline? I've never seen some many Aggies in an SMU visitors section. I'm assuming SMU had to have sent many tickets back for there to be so many. We had less than half the fans there that we had even on the last trip to College Station. Were there even enough to sell some tickets in the secondary SMU section in the rafters? I saw maybe a couple of dozen up there that might have been SMU fans. What did we have 900 fans that bothered to show up?

I know the TCU team doc and at least he's a TCU grad. The SMU doc is a UF grad, but yes, at least he's wearing a nice blue shirt and seems very credentialed. Kind of surprising to be that close to JJ.

He graduated from SMU undergrad in the mid 90s.

So now we're bad mouthing the team doctors? How stupid can you get? Dr. Baker is also my doctor and if you've got an orthopedic issue, it doesn't get any better than the Carrell Clinic. His job, which he is very good at by the way, is to take care of our athletes---not to jump up and down on the sidelines.

They do and he uses pretty much every modality you can imagine. Google SMU team chiropractor & his site is easy to find.

Just wondering. There's more evidence to the popping of the back being cavitation as opposed to realignment. I would be disappointed in myself if I didn't complain about straight chiropractic hypotheses. I love the musculoskeletal/soft tissue stuff like active release though. Don't get me wrong. I just don't like the hypothesis that DCs will say that you are out of alignment and their back cracking is realigning anything.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cracking_joints

"Synovial fluid cavitation has some evidence to support it.[2] When a spinal manipulation is performed, the applied force separates the articular surfaces of a fully encapsulated synovial joint, which in turn creates a reduction in pressure within the joint cavity. In this low-pressure environment, some of the gases that are dissolved in the synovial fluid (which are naturally found in all bodily fluids) leave the solution, making a bubble, or cavity, which rapidly collapses upon itself, resulting in a "clicking" sound. The contents of the resultant gas bubble are thought to be mainly carbon dioxide.[3] The effects of this process will remain for a period of time known as the "refractory period", which can range from a few seconds to some hours while it is slowly reabsorbed back into the synovial fluid. There is some evidence that ligament laxity may be associated with an increased tendency to cavitate.[4]"

They don't keep a snake oil salesman on staff, not sure why they'd bother with a D.C. either.

Of course, SMU does have a chaplain so I guess we do waste money on superstitious nonsense a bit.

Its a pretty far stretch criticizing medical/training staff on the sideline for not being enthusiastic when again as pointed out there was such a weak showing of our fans at the game and at every game for that matter. 90% of the people in our season ticket holder section at home act that disinterested and harass you when you do not act as disinterested as they.

You guys are so missing the point. That was one pic I snapped, but there're were countless other folks in blue polos that got on camera and looked completely disinterested. Ok, this one happens to be team Doc so I will give a pass, but it is indicative of everyone on our sidelines.

Wake up and stop making excuses for the LOSER mentality that has spread from the HC all the way down to the entire staff.

Oh and stallion - I took the screen shot from tv because I live in freaking North Carolina, so no, I don't travel down to an away game in Bryan. And I'd guess that the folks that could drive just didn't want to witness the epic beat down that we were sure to get. I wouldn't want to watch it live either, even if I could.

I'm coming for the Rutgers game - but I will be honest. So many of you fans just accept this mediocrity that it is driving me nuts and I'm not sure that thus is the program I want to follow any longer. Undergrad and law school - 7 years spent on this campus and rooting for this program - and my return on investment stinks.

I thought you guys were with me. Guess I was wrong.

As you noted, the picture you showed happened to be a terrible example, so I don't blame people for not just assuming that all of the other examples you could have shown are better examples. Why not post them and let people decide?

I'm not lucky enough to be able to attend every game - so when I do actually get to a nearby away game or down to Dallas, I yell and scream and cheer my @zz off. I remember 1 of 2 games I saw in Annapolis and I was yelling about a blown call with Orsini right across from me. He was into the game and yelling as well. I loved seeing that emotion and passion for the team. I've sat in hostile environments at ECU where the fans really try to intimidate opposing fans.

I agree with the poster above- at Ford, I feel like people get annoyed about cheering, standing up, yelling at the refs for a bad call, etc. I guess that behavior isn't acceptable at a soirée.

My wife is a Tarheel grad, so we get to chapel hill quite a lot. And so many colleges are close to us so I've attended games at NC St, ECU, Duke, Wake, Clemson and S Carolina.

I have other options to choose from. But the ponies are my alma mater, and closest to my heart. However, if the fans and coaches don't really care...if they have no passion... Why am I wasting money to fly into Dallas, get a hotel, get tix, etc when I can see more teams closer to home? Teams that have a buy in from the presidents all the way down to the waterboys and to the passionate fans that yell and stomp and cheer so loudly.

I feel like I'm in the minority at SMU. The minority that actually cares.

It wasn't stupid IMHO. People notice these things. Folks watching the game with me noticed just how bored our sidelines looked. This was early 1st quarter too. Big game. And we look like we have somewhere else to be.

I didn't know who that particular guy was, so I asked the question. I question things ponylove, I don't just accept them. It is a good mentality to have, instead of just being a blind follower as you appear to be.

I consider myself a pretty smart guy; not stupid as you called me. I'd like our sideline folks to look enthused. I'm not asking for 20 nick sabans. But at least look like you freaking care.

That is the entire problem with SMU. Nobody cares. No direction. Nobody questioning why and how we do things.

I'm done with this program and the fans who don't even care. Crap on me all you want, but outsiders notice this kind of thing. Step away from the program a bit and see it through another's eyes. Team looks unprepared. Coaches on sidelines look bored. Staff members, whether they be doctors or lawyers or freaking waterboys, look disinterested. It has an effect on perception.

I wish we would set higher standards for ourselves. But no, I get called out for posting it and questioning the status quo. I'm done.

1 less fan. Congrats Ponyfans - you've alienated another die hard supporter. Because I actually cared. Now I see why so many folks don't come back to SMU games after graduation. And why non-SMU folks get turned off.
