Don't worry! Tony Levine & James Dickey will drag both of your programs down

Shouldn't you be searching your sofa cushions for 31 points?

Levine ran circles around June on the recruiting trail this past offseason, is undefeated and wi get a chance to redeem himself of that loss at the end of the year while Dickey beat Brown last season.

What will be your new excuse after we beat you this year to continue our dominance of the series?

Craig James? Isn't he the guy who fancied himself a U.S. Senator but couldn't buy himself enough votes to even get in a runoff? Didn't he try to get Leach fired in some puffed-up pique over the alleged treatment of his son at Tech? And, just recently, didn't he lose his broadcasting job at Fox Sports over some intemperate remarks about gays?

Geez, in public comparison, James almost makes Leach look like an intelligent, laidback gentleman, IMO. Furthermore, there have never been any rumors that Leach received monies that resulted in the SMU DP.

But, you're probably right about RGT.

Welcome to Ponyfans! It is nice to have a Texas Tech fan on our forum! Stick around you might just find that you like it.

If we want to add to the list of a-hole coaches, I will always keep Grant Teaff near the top of my list from our first year back from the DP when Teaff called for a fake punt when baylor was up by 40+ points. As I recall Forrest Gregg wanted a piece of his hide after the game.

I'm a Texas Tech fan? Seriously? Do you really think a Tech fan could spell Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?

I hold both undergraduate and graduate degrees from SMU, and I appreciate the education I acquired, both in the classroom and out. That having been said, I am neither blind nor senile where SMU is concerned.

Back in the day, I was a full-on SMU football enthusiast, but decades of futility and embarrassment have eroded my spirit somewhat. As it turns out, apparently, hope does not spring eternal. I now expect the worst, but I will say, I am always pleasantly surprised by any deviation from that expected norm.

Though I suspect we might have some bedrock philosophical differences, it's good to have you here to broaden the discussion.

Bedrock philosophical differences discussed in a vigorous yet civil and respectful manner can be both entertaining and educational for all involved. That is the stuff of Socrates.

Rote-learned, immutable dogmas blared out in uncompromising tones and designed to ridicule any thought to the contrary pretty much quash any meaningful conversation. That is the stuff of .......(fill in the blank).

I'm happy to be here, and I shall endeavor in my participation to indulge in the former rather than the latter.

Nacho - I'm not sure what you are implying. I do like sunshine, but in the context of the SMU football situation, it would be totally inappropriate.

SMU has been doing incredibly dumb things in regard to football since it fired Hayden Fry in 1972. Further, I submit that many of the dumb things it has done speak volumes about the character of university and its alums. (Do I need to quote from Pony Excess?)

Part of me loves SMU, and the other part sometimes makes me want to hold my nose and turn my diplomas to the wall.

Yes, Craig did probably did own some of the fault in the Leach situation. Not all of it, but some.

Anyway, nice way to treat a former SMU great.

You can have whatever opinion you want that doesn't mean there aren't consequences for having it. Sounds to me like Fox Sports just expressed its opinion of his comments.

By giving the middle finger to his constitutional right to free speech, yes.
