Re: Actually, not that bad a year considering adversity.I thought it was a good year too considering. It is hard to believe programs such as Southern Miss and Tulsa can totally tank in the space of a year. I think SMU's problems are more evident off the field this year compared to years past. Recruiting, fan support, reputation around the state among the greatest football fans in the world and the greatest high school coaches. Better watch out for UTSAN...they might be THE university of Texas in a few years at the rate they are going.

I feel sorry for you that you have to engage in personal attacks. All you had to say is, "that's not funny."

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Actually, not that bad a year considering adversity.
Absolutely correct. This was the year for us to step up and make our national mark. Instead, we barely beat 4 of the worst teams in DIv. I and by the miracle of luck defeated a very good Div II team. This season to me was a resounding failure in JJ's 6th season. Obviously, we had some worthy individual performances, but the over all product was not good. Problem is that our recruiting has been very poor for the last 2 years and our 2014 class appears to be the worst under JJ. Makes one wonder where we go from here as the future appears to be much more of the same.

Nice to be first in something. ![]() SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
