ClickClack: You make a valid point; I should have stated at the outset that I was relying on Scout.com. And for those of you who demand to know what my "f*****g point is, I simply say that I am utterly dismayed by the amount of anger some people have displayed in their responses. My goodness, are we not allowed to say anything positive on this board?
I made a comment without criticizing Coach Jones - that doesn't strike me as a major crime against humanity.
Have a nice day.

8 NFL players (or whatever the actual number is) over 3 years surrounded by guys who barely get a chance to play d1 ball is not going to make you a championship team.

Looks like those guys didn't accomplish all that much as a team, just saying.

But June is a "good" coach?

Actually, yes. Relative to his recruiting.

Mack Brown, relative to his recruiting, is horrible.

I guess Jimbo Fisher and Nick Saban are examples of how to do it. They recruit well and they win.

Good comment.

If you're looking to crucify someone, yes. But it ignores the fact that he had a big hand in setting those players up for NFL success.

What he said is true. A D1AA team can have a kid going to the pros but that does make team team win nor does it make the coach good. There is no "I" in team.

Ok, but where does developing talent fit into that equation?

How do you know they would not have gone pro under another coach?

Then JJ's been recruiting NFL-level talent.j It's ok to give him some credit. Really.

He's not terrible at identifying talent. He's just not so good that he can solely recruit players every other d1 school "overlooked". He hits on 1 or maybe 2, but unfortunately you can't field a team with 1 or 2 and the rest crap

I thought a lot of the pro guys were Bennett players. But again D1AA guys apparently recruit pro talent as well as Bennett. But while we may get a few players that do pan out we have depth issues with the 20 that don't. But what floats your boat man.

Right, he seems to shy away from tough recruiting battles unlike the USF head coach. The we can't offer top players because of "the level where are" is sickening to hear but it is what it is. 5 to 7 wins per year max imo.
