Just another golf buddy who can get his paycheck for a year and then move on. Meh. Wake me up after this season and these zombies are all gone.
Back off Warchild seriously.

He has worked at UCLA, Arizona St and WSU so he knows what is expected

Read somewhere that he was hired at UCLA in large part because he was given credit for part of Graham's strong class at ASU.

Broussard never worked for Todd Graham. He worked for Dennis Erickson at ASU.

Problem is that at UCLA his recruiting prowess waned, if he were still thought of as a big time recruiter out West then he would have gotten a job with a Pac-12 school. Now he's going to have to recruit for a lame duck HC at a G5 school 1500 + miles away from his recruiting base. It's just not likely he's going to be able to do anything for us.

At least it is an improvement, right? Who is going to have a bigger impact on recruiting, Broussard or Mumme/Chang? At least he has been noticed as a an excellent recruiter in the past, and we now have a RB coach who was a great RB in college.

It may not be perfect, but it is an upgrade, so lets at least embrace that...

Charlie Strong did not retained a lot of the Texas coaches. I wonder why June didn't try to hire one of them since they had Texas ties and were highly regarded recruiters.

Seems like a grad assistant did much of the work with the players.

From an article.

"We've heard that graduate assistant, and former running back Deshaun Foster has the inside track on replacing Broussard. Foster, according to sources, was doing much of the work with the players in practice, and the players are said to love him.

There had been some complaints about Broussard's ability on the recruiting trail, and his ability to connect with top recruits, like Joe Mixon."

So there are mixed reviews out there about him as a coach and as a recruiter. Benefit of the doubt -- let's see what he does at SMU.

I concur. Let's see what the man can do, then judge.

I like the fact that maybe we'll have a running back coaching running backs. Seriously, it could work.

Especially when we we could conceivably be loaded at RB this fall.

Then maybe we should have hired DeShaun Foster since it is reported that he did most of the work with the RB's. Just sayin'.
