bridgewater sucks and the vikings need to win now w/t peterson on their roster
Please elaborate on Bridgewater sucking...?
Sucking was the wrong word. I just think theres other qb's with higher upside than him. His arm strength is above avg but not extraordinary like some of these other guys and people say "he makes up for it with anticipation" which I get that, but dont know how well that will translate to the nfl. I also think hes a bit small to play in the nfc north. And I know the argument that small qb's are starting to succeed in the nfl but Id just prefer a bigger qb playing against the packers and bears 4 times a year. Im not a GM so my opinion doesnt matter but I saw bridgewater limping around against rutgers a few yrs ago and that would make me hesitant to make that guy a franchise qb.

I think we can pretty much say with confidence Jerry is among the worst GM's in the game, just based on the Cowboys playoff record since 1995. They have won exactly two....that's right...TWO playoff games.
You can get excited because he drafted a few offensive lineman if you want, but I am not paying ANY attention to the cowboys until they fix the main problem. If Jerry was a GM that had a boss, he would have been fired 15 years ago.

Amazing thing is that he said the same thing himself.

Not paying attention, just posting about them on a message board.

to me Bortles is a lot like Andy Dalton; good college QB who won because he didn't make mistakes that cost his team. Everything speeds up in the NFL and it is more difficult to play error free ball as Dalton is learning. I expect Bortles and Dalton to have very similar careers. Just got back from Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra and the Jags really went out and got Bortles some help on the OL and at WR, not unlike what Cincy did a few years ago. Should be interesting. Of course, I hope our boy GG turns out to be the best of the three, but can't say I expect much. Hopefully GG has a long career as a back up playing with multiple teams...not unlike Josh McCown who has had a nice NFL career.

I think Bortles has more physical upside than Dalton. I'm surprised that Storm Johnson went as late as he did. I think he will stick around the NFL for quite a while.
I always thought Gilbert would get drafted because of the physical tools. But I think he is just too slow going through his progressions to make it in the league. David Carr/Chris Simms is who I think he is on the pro level.

Back to the original post.
May be ok. May be terrible.
Didn't Bortels have his breakout game against us in 2010 when he came in for the converted WR who then got moved back to WR? I think since they were down he pretty much aired it out and almost brought them back.

And June said that he would be in the NFL and we all wrote it out as coach speak (not trying to spark a JJ debate, just pointing it out)

I thought Bortles was very good, but never considered him to be at a higher level than Gilbert. Have trouble believing that the Jacksonville franchise with their poor attendance and limited sponsor support would pass up the entertainment value of Johnny Football.

If they build the team right then they'll improve attendance and sponsor support with a winning product.
